The iRobot Roomba 104 Vac is iRobot's entry-level Roomba for dry floors: ClearView lidar maps the home so it cleans in neat rows, a three-stage cleaning system with a multi-surface brush and an edge-sweeping brush does the vacuuming, and it comes with a dock that only charges. The app sets schedules per room, suction levels, the number of passes and keep-out zones, a spot mode cleans one area for up to five minutes, and it works with Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant.
On paper, lidar is the step up from iRobot's older entry models such as the Roomba 694, which cover a room at random: a map lets the robot clean room by room and carry on where it stopped after recharging. iRobot claims 70 times the suction of its 600-series robots, but gives no figure in pascals. The Roomba 104 2in1+ is the version with a mop pad and an AutoEmpty dock.
None of our test sources has measured it, so how well it vacuums, how it handles pet hair and how reliably it steers around obstacles is still unknown. Our specifications list no suction figure, run time or bin size, and the listing names no obstacle sensor beyond the lidar itself.
