What testers say about the Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra

The Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra is the flagship of Narwal's Z range: 18,000 Pa of suction, DualFlow main and side brushes against hair wrap, two triangular spinning mop pads that press down with 8 newtons, swing out along edges and lift 0.5 inches on carpet, and obstacle recognition with two cameras, dual AI chips and a light for dark rooms. The robot carries no water tank of its own. The station empties the bin for up to 120 days, washes the pads in 167 °F water, dries them with 104 °F air and doses detergent.

TechRadar found its mopping up with the best it has seen, especially along edges and under kitchen cabinets, where the extending pads reach, and it took muddy paw prints, puddles, coffee drips and dried yogurt in its stride. Obstacle avoidance was excellent, with shoes and cables avoided and photographed in the app, and after weeks with a dog and long hair in the house the brushes were virtually free of hair. Everyday vacuuming of crumbs, dog hair and pine needles on hard floors and medium-pile rugs was solid, and the battery lasted nearly two and a half hours before the robot went back to charge.

The weak spots are software and reliability: the self-emptying was hit-or-miss even when set to empty after every run, the Freo Mind smart features made things worse rather than better, the app is overwhelming and the robot did not always complete its tasks. It struggled with larger spills and with edges under low cabinets, where its lidar turret makes it too tall at 4.3 inches, left an unmopped margin around rugs and uses a lot of water. For hard floors that need excellent mopping it delivers, as long as you are prepared to set it up by hand.

Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra specifications

The numbers that matter first, then every fact by group. As published by the maker or the store we read it from.

Narwal · on the market since January 2025

Robot height4.3 in
Climbs thresholds up to0.8 in
Mop lift on carpet0.5 in
Runtime per charge150 min
Suction power18,000 Pa

Consumables: a 2.5 l dust bag in the station, which lasts up to 120 days.

Dimensionsrobot and dock

Dock, from the front 15.3 in high 17 in deep 15.3 in 18.2 in wide Robot, from the side 14 in across 4.3 in

From the published dimensions. The robot passes under furniture with 4.4 in of clearance or more. The dock needs a spot 18.2 in wide and 17 in deep.

Suction and brushes 7 facts
Suction power

Suction in pascal, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot picks grit off a hard floor.

18,000 Pa
Anti-tangle brush

A brush that guides hair to the side instead of letting it wind around the shaft. It saves the cutting work in homes with long hair or pets.

yes
Extending side brush

The side brush swings out in a corner or along a baseboard, so the dust there is swept in too. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

no (assumed)
Carpet detection

The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock.

detects carpet and boosts suction
Suitable for pet hair

Whether the robot copes with pet hair: a brush that hair does not wind around and a dock that empties the bin for you. Where the maker does not say so itself, we read it from those two.

yes
Filter type

The filter the exhaust air passes through. A HEPA filter holds back fine dust and pollen, which counts if someone at home has an allergy.

HEPA
Dirt detection

A sensor notices where more dirt lies, at the doormat for example, and the robot cleans that patch longer or a second time.

yes
Mopping 4 facts
Mop type

How the mop is built: flat pads, two spinning discs or a roller. Discs press harder on dried-on dirt, a roller rinses itself while it works.

spinning pads
Mop lift on carpet

How far the robot lifts the mop when it drives onto a carpet. From about 0.4 in (10 mm) a medium pile stays dry.

0.5 in (12 mm)
Mop extends to the edges

The pad slides out along a wall or a baseboard, so the last few inches are mopped as well.

yes
Automatic mop detach

The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

no (assumed)
Dock 11 facts
Empties the dust bin

The dock empties the robot’s dust bin, usually after every run. You only empty the dock’s bag or bin.

yes
Bagless

The dock collects dust in a bin instead of a disposable bag. No bags to buy, but you empty it yourself.

no
Dust bag capacity

How much the dust bag in the dock holds.

2.5 l
Dust bag lasts

How long the maker says a dust bag lasts with daily use. With pets or a lot of carpet it is shorter.

up to 120 days
Washes the mop

The dock washes the mop for you, so you do not rinse it by hand.

yes
Wash temperature

How hot the dock washes the mop. Above 140 °F (60 °C) grease comes off, which is what keeps a mop from smelling.

167 °F (75 °C)
Dries the mop

The dock dries the mop afterwards, so it does not sit there wet and start to smell.

yes
Hot-air drying

Drying is done with warm air instead of cold. It is faster and it helps against smell.

yes
Dispenses detergent

The dock mixes detergent into the water itself, from its own bottle.

yes
Plumbing hookup

The dock can be connected to the tap and the drain, so you never fill or empty a tank. It does need a connection nearby. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

no (assumed)
Dock size (w × d × h)

The width, depth and height of the dock. Measure the spot you have in mind, and leave room for the lid and for the robot driving in.

18.2 × 17 × 15.3 in (46.2 × 43.1 × 38.8 cm)
Navigation and obstacles 6 facts
Navigation

How the robot maps your home and follows that map. Lidar measures with a laser and works in the dark, a camera looks along and recognizes more.

built-in LiDAR, no turret
Obstacle avoidance

How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact.

AI camera
Climbs thresholds up to

The highest threshold the robot takes, as the maker states it. Measure your own: the step into a bathroom or onto a balcony is often higher.

0.8 in (20 mm)
Climbing system for high thresholds

An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 0.8 in (2 cm).

no
Camera on board

Whether the robot has a camera, and what for: to recognize obstacles, or also to show you a live picture of your home in the app.

obstacle camera
Stair-edge sensors

Sensors under the robot that see a drop, so it stops at the top of a staircase instead of falling down it.

yes
Robot 5 facts
Robot height

How tall the robot is. It decides whether it fits under your sofa, bed or cabinet.

4.3 in (11 cm)
Robot diameter

How wide the robot is. Narrower gets between chair legs more easily, wider usually means a bigger dust bin.

14 in (35.5 cm)
Robot weight

What the robot weighs. It counts most if you carry it up a staircase every day.

9.9 lb (4.5 kg)
Dust bin in the robot

How much dust the robot holds before you empty it. It matters less with a self-emptying dock, which empties the bin after every run.

480 ml
Noise

The noise in decibels, in the setting its source names: makers mostly give the standard setting, stores often the highest. 65 dB is like a vacuum at half power, 55 dB like a conversation.

56 dB
Battery 2 facts
Battery capacity

The capacity of the battery. It hints at the runtime, but how much the robot draws counts just as much.

6,400 mAh
Runtime per charge

How long the robot cleans on one charge, at its quietest setting. After that it recharges and carries on where it stopped.

150 min
Smart features and warranty 1 fact
Voice assistants

Which voice assistants the robot works with, such as Google Assistant or Alexa.

Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri
