What testers say about the Roborock Q7 M5+

The Roborock Q7 M5+ is the Q7 M5 with a self-emptying dock: the same robot, with 10,000 Pa of suction, an anti-tangle main brush and side brush, lidar navigation, a clip-on mop with three water levels and a 3,200 mAh battery, on a RockDock Plus that empties the bin into a 2.7-liter bag for up to seven weeks. Wirecutter makes it its top pick, and TechRadar and RTINGS, which tested the Q7 M5 on its plain charging dock, name that robot their best budget and best cheap robot vacuum.

Wirecutter counts it among the most thorough cleaners and best navigators it tested: it remembers maps of several floors and is among the quietest robots in the test. RTINGS measured strong debris pickup, clearing most debris from hard floors in one pass and doing better on carpet than the pricier MOVA P10 Pro Ultra thanks to its bristled brush. TechRadar praises suction that is strong for the price, reliable navigation, and chunky wheels with suspension that take tall thresholds in their stride.

The limits come with the price: the side brush does not extend, so edges stay less clean, the mop is quite wet and cannot lift, so it comes off for carpet, and hair wraps around the brush. On obstacles the testers disagree: Wirecutter saw it avoid them better than its rivals, while TechRadar and RTINGS found its obstacle avoidance patchy, so clear cables and socks from the floor. For a cheap, dependable vacuum in a home that needs little mopping it is a strong pick, and the self-emptying dock makes it the better choice of the two with pets.
