| Mopping | ||
| How the mop is built: flat pads, two spinning discs or a roller. Discs press harder on dried-on dirt, a roller rinses itself while it works. When it matters
Source
| spinning pads | spinning pads |
| How far the robot lifts the mop when it drives onto a carpet. From about 0.4 in (10 mm) a medium pile stays dry. In this comparisonWhen it matters
Source
| 0.6 in (15 mm) best | 0.5 in (12 mm) |
| The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet. When it matters
Source
| yes (best) | no (assumed) |
| The dock washes the mop for you, so you do not rinse it by hand. When it matters
Source
| yes | yes |
| Drying is done with warm air instead of cold. It is faster and it helps against smell. When it matters
Source
| yes | yes |
| Station | ||
| The station the robot returns to, and what it does by itself, such as emptying the bin or washing and drying the mops. Station same on both | all-in-one station | all-in-one station |
| How long the maker says a dust bag lasts with daily use. With pets or a lot of carpet it is shorter. In this comparisonWhen it matters

| up to 65 days | up to 120 days best |
| The dock can be connected to the tap and the drain, so you never fill or empty a tank. It does need a connection nearby. When it matters

| Brush and obstacles | ||
| A brush that guides hair to the side instead of letting it wind around the shaft. It saves the cutting work in homes with long hair or pets. When it matters
Source
| yes | yes |
| How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact. When it matters

| AI camera | AI camera |
| The highest threshold the robot takes, as the maker states it. Measure your own: the step into a bathroom or onto a balcony is often higher. In this comparisonWhen it matters
Source
| 1.8 in (45 mm) best | 0.8 in (20 mm) |
| An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 0.8 in (2 cm). When it matters
Source
| yes (best) | no |
| Size, noise and age | ||
| How tall the robot is. It decides whether it fits under your sofa, bed or cabinet. In this comparisonWhen it matters
Source
| 3.1 in (8 cm) best | 4.3 in (11 cm) |
| The noise in decibels, in the setting its source names: makers mostly give the standard setting, stores often the highest. 65 dB is like a vacuum at half power, 55 dB like a conversation. In this comparisonWhen it matters

| The month the model first went on sale. It shows how old the technology in it is. On the market since | February 2026 | January 2025 |
| Suction and brushes | ||
| Suction in pascal, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot picks grit off a hard floor. In this comparisonWhen it matters
Source
| 36,000 Pa | 18,000 Pa |
| The side brush swings out in a corner or along a baseboard, so the dust there is swept in too. When it matters
Source
| yes | no (assumed) |
| The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock. When it matters
Source
| detects carpet | detects carpet and boosts suction |
| Whether the robot copes with pet hair: a brush that hair does not wind around and a dock that empties the bin for you. Where the maker does not say so itself, we read it from those two. When it matters
Source
| yes | yes |
| A sensor notices where more dirt lies, at the doormat for example, and the robot cleans that patch longer or a second time. When it matters
Source
| yes | yes |
| The filter the exhaust air passes through. A HEPA filter holds back fine dust and pollen, which counts if someone at home has an allergy. When it matters
Source
| – | HEPA |
| Mopping | ||
| The pad slides out along a wall or a baseboard, so the last few inches are mopped as well. When it matters
Source
| yes | yes |
| How much clean water the robot carries. It sets how long it mops before a refill, which a dock does by itself. When it matters
Source
| 69 ml | – |
| Dock | ||
| The dock empties the robot’s dust bin, usually after every run. You only empty the dock’s bag or bin. When it matters
Source
| yes | yes |
| The dock collects dust in a bin instead of a disposable bag. No bags to buy, but you empty it yourself. When it matters
Source
| no (assumed) | no |
| How much the dust bag in the dock holds. In this comparisonSource
| 2.7 l | 2.5 l |

| The dock dries the mop afterwards, so it does not sit there wet and start to smell. When it matters

| The dock mixes detergent into the water itself, from its own bottle. When it matters
Source
| yes | yes |
| Navigation and obstacles | ||
| How the robot maps your home and follows that map. Lidar measures with a laser and works in the dark, a camera looks along and recognizes more. When it matters

| built-in LiDAR, no turret | built-in LiDAR, no turret |
| Two steps close together, such as a threshold with a sliding-door track behind it: their combined height, as the maker measures it. Facts as the maker states them. A dash means the maker does not name it. Each model’s page gives the source of every fact. Noise is the maker’s own figure, so we do not judge it, and a customer rating only counts from 20 reviews.
Score out of 10: 60% lab tests, 25% owners’ ratings at the stores that ship to the United States, 15% the maker’s facts. Price does not count. Only models a lab has tested are ranked, and only models sold in the United States count. Method.

How we rank
Six rules every robot is ranked by
The same rules for every brand, every day. No brand or store can pay its way up.
Tested, or not ranked
A robot enters the ranking only after a cleaning test. 173 have been tested so far.
Price never counts
A discount can’t lift a model. The price sits beside the score, checked every morning at 6 stores.
Cleaning weighs most
60% of the score is measured cleaning: carpet, pet hair, mopping, obstacles and navigation.
Owners and makers have a say
25% comes from owners’ star ratings at the stores that ship to you, 15% from the facts the maker states.
Thin evidence counts less
The fewer tests behind a result, the more we pull it toward the average of its station type, so one lucky run can’t top the list.
Reviewers shown, not blended
The picks of RTINGS, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, Vacuum Wars, and Wirecutter sit next to our score, so you can see where they agree.
5 tests, 5 different winners
The number one on the main list of each test we follow, and where that model stands in our ranking. Their picks are shown beside our score and do not count in it.

Where we check prices
We read prices every day at most stores, from their product feed or web store. We check them for errors and keep them, so you can see what a price did over the last 90 days. We link to Amazon too, but show no Amazon price until we read it through Amazon’s own API. Until then the price is on Amazon itself.

Whose tests we use
The lab part of our score comes from the measured tests of Just A Dad Approved and Vacuum Wars.
Beside each model we also show where these testers place it in their own lists, without counting it in the score:
How we combine lab tests, owners’ ratings and facts into one score is on the method page.
