A home with a dog or a cat asks one thing above all of a robot vacuum: that hair does not get stuck in the brush. On an ordinary bristle brush, pet hair wraps around the roller. The robot then picks up less and less, and you cut the brush free yourself. An anti-tangle brush prevents that, with rubber fins, two rollers turning against each other, or a comb or blade that works the hair loose. With a puppy, or a cat that is sometimes sick, look at the AI camera as well: it recognises what is on the floor and drives around it.

Prices, specs and price history →The Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete, sold in the United States as the X60 Max Ultra Complete, is Dreame's current flagship: a retractable lidar that keeps it under nine centimetres tall, a climbing system for thresholds of more than five centimetres, two spinning mop pads with warmed water that extend and detach automatically, and a station that washes in boiling-hot water, dries with hot air, doses detergent and odour control and can be plumbed in. Tom's Guide calls it the best robot vacuum of 2026; Vacuum Wars ranks it 4th of 20.
Tom's Guide watched it pick up everything from hair to flax seeds and mop away dried soy sauce and mud without sticky residue, with a map ready in under ten minutes and an app that makes scheduling easy. Vacuum Wars measured 89 percent of the embedded sand out of carpet, a rare 100 percent on pressed-in pet hair, 22 of 24 obstacles avoided thanks to two cameras that see objects from a centimetre up, and a five-centimetre threshold taken without effort. The battery charges in about 80 minutes.
There is criticism too. On carpet with lots of hair and coarse debris performance dips slightly, the station is large and needs floor space, the onboard bin is small at 235 millilitres, the route is a little less efficient than average and it covers less area per charge than rivals. The price sits above most competitors, which both testers mention. For anyone wanting the most complete package available today and with room for the station, this is the reference.

Prices, specs and price history →The Roborock Q7 M5 is a simple vacuum-and-mop robot with lidar navigation, a drag mop you clip on yourself and a compact charging dock without emptying; the Q7 M5+ is the same robot with an auto-empty station. TechRadar names it the best budget robot, RTINGS the best cheap one, Wirecutter puts the Plus version first, and Vacuum Wars bought it to see whether the bargain delivers.
TechRadar praises the reliable performance and the 10,000 Pa of suction you expect from pricier robots: debris large and small and pet hair were picked up well, the map was accurate and the robot covered the whole floor systematically. Wirecutter calls the Plus one of the most thorough cleaners and best navigators it tested, remembering maps of several floors, avoiding obstacles better than the other robots tested and being among the quietest. The dock fits a small home and the robot is regularly on offer.
The limits come with the price: the side brush does not extend, so edges stay less clean, the mop is quite wet and cannot lift on carpet, so you take it off for a vacuum run, and hair wraps around the brush. Vacuum Wars was the strictest and scored the manual mop low. For a cheap, reliable vacuum in a smaller home with little carpet it fits; with pets the M5+ with its auto-empty station is the better pick, and anyone who wants to mop should look further.

The rounded station empties the bin into a bag, washes the pads in 75-degree water and dries them with hot air. TechRadar names it the best robot vacuum for most people, RTINGS the best upper mid-range model, and Vacuum Wars kept it at the top of its own top 20 for a while.
TechRadar praises the suction that convinced in every test, including carpet full of pet hair, the reliable navigation and obstacle recognition that let you leave it to itself, and the ease with which it climbs tall thresholds. Vacuum Wars measured 86 percent of the embedded sand out of carpet, tied sixth of more than a hundred robots at the time and better than the pricier Qrevo Master and S8 MaxV, and saw the new brushes handle hair better than the previous generation. Both testers rate the mopping as above average.
The reservations are mild: with its lidar turret the robot is on the tall side and does not fit under all low furniture, the station does not dose detergent and there is no water-line hookup. TechRadar notes the equipment is more than some homes need, and the first place at Vacuum Wars has since gone to newer models. For anyone wanting one robot that looks after itself and copes with high thresholds, it remains one of the safest choices.

All three testers see the same strength: embedded pet hair and sand in carpet. Tom's Guide measured the effect of the 36,000 Pa of suction, the highest in their guide, and saw the twin anti-tangle brush stay clean even after heavy runs; Vacuum Wars lifted 89 percent of the sand out of carpet and 88 percent of the pressed-in pet hair, with a perfect score in the long-hair test. Obstacle recognition dodged toys and bowls reliably, and the low build takes it under furniture a turret cannot. The pads press with adaptive force and use less water than average, which limits streaks.
The criticism targets mopping and price: Tom's Guide saw patches missed and visible streaks in the lab, TechRadar still finds sticky spills a job for a cloth, and both call it more machine than many homes need, at a price to match. TechRadar also saw the odd strange behaviour on certain tasks. For homes with plenty of carpet, thick rugs, high thresholds and shedding pets it is one of the best choices; if mopping is the priority, look at a roller-mop model.

Vacuum Wars calls it the best Ecovacs it has ever tested, ranks it 7th of 20 and names it its best-value pick.
On the bench it produced the highest airflow in its class and more than twice the suction of the Dreame L50 Ultra, its direct rival. Pet hair pickup reached a rare hundred percent, and after the long-hair test nothing was wrapped around the brush. The roller scored almost fifty percent above average on dried stains, the second-highest mopping score Vacuum Wars has recorded, and it avoided 23 of 24 obstacles. Matter support, fast charging and an efficient battery are on the plus side too.
The main criticism is the small 250 ml bin, about thirty percent below average, though the station compensates by emptying it often. Navigation was slightly more efficient than average but showed the odd strange route, and threshold height of around three centimetres is ordinary rather than exceptional. Anyone wanting strong suction and a real roller mop without paying flagship money will find one of this year's best deals here.

Vacuum Wars names it the best budget robot and ranks it 8th of 20, noting that it impressed in almost every test.
Bench suction was two and a half times the average and higher than the pricier T90 Pro Omni's; 91 percent of the embedded sand came out of the carpet, again more than the T90. Pressed-in pet hair was picked up completely and nothing was wrapped around the brush after the long-hair test. The roller scored high on dried stains and left little water behind, lifts 15 millimetres on carpet and extends along edges. It avoided 21 of 24 obstacles, and the battery was frugal.
The main weakness is navigation: the route was less efficient than average, so runs take longer and the estimated area per charge sits slightly below average, and users reported occasional map problems. The side brush does not extend, thresholds stop at about 2.5 centimetres and the station does not dose detergent. For anyone wanting strong suction, a real roller mop and a bagless station without flagship money, it is one of this year's best buys.

RTINGS names it the best robot vacuum overall; Vacuum Wars called it the best it had seen when it appeared.
Vacuum Wars measured a perfect 24 of 24 obstacles avoided, including the smallest objects most rivals miss, thanks to a camera with object recognition, a vertical light beam and a rear sensor. Nothing was wrapped around the split main brush after the long-hair test, pressed-in pet hair was picked up at 92 percent against an 80 average, and 80 percent of the embedded sand came out of the carpet. The pads lift on carpet and, for the first time on a Roborock, can stay in the station automatically, after which the robot collects them for the mopping run.
The reservations are small: the carpet score is good rather than the very best, the quoted 22,000 Pa of suction sits below the newer Saros 20, and the station is large. For anyone wanting a low robot that dodges nearly everything on the floor and looks after itself, without needing the latest suction figures, this is one of the most complete robots around, and often discounted since the Saros 20 arrived.

Rated suction is 42,000 Pa, the spinning mop extends up to 17 centimetres and the side brush about 12, and a lifting chassis clears 4.5 cm thresholds and two-step obstacles up to 9 cm. The lidar sinks into the body so the robot fits under low furniture.
What Vacuum Wars highlights in its description: the bagless EcoCyclone station holds up to a hundred days of dust in a washable container, washes the pads in boiling-hot water, dries them with air of around 70 degrees, doses cleaning solution and cleans its own washboard. The pads detach automatically for a vacuum-only run on carpet, the 6,400 mAh battery charges quickly and the obstacle recognition knows more than three hundred kinds of objects.
One caveat: its place at the top rests on the hardware and first measurements; Vacuum Wars has not yet published a full test report with carpet, hair and mopping scores for this model, and the other test sources we follow have not rated it yet. If you want the most complete station and the longest reach along edges without buying dust bags, this is the model the testers currently put first.

The robot has retractable legs for thresholds up to eight centimetres, a retractable lidar, an extending side brush and an extending mop. Vacuum Wars ranks it 3rd of 20.
In the tests it lifted 88 percent of the embedded sand out of carpet, one of the highest scores on record, and 94 percent of the pressed-in pet hair against an 81 average, both better than the pricier Dreame Matrix10 Ultra Vacuum Wars compared it with. A flap that drops on carpet half-seals the intake and raises suction there, which showed in crevices too. The split main brush channels hair to one side, and the side brush extends for corners.
The reservations are limited: the station is big, the 3.2-litre bag is rated for only about a month of daily use, and it recognises obstacles with 3D structured light rather than a camera, which is less certain with socks and cables. There is no water-line hookup. For anyone wanting vacuuming, mopping with swappable pads and high thresholds in one robot, this is one of the best-tested models of the year.

The station washes the roller in 60-degree water, dries with hot air, doses detergent, fast-charges and stores up to 68 days of dust. Vacuum Wars ranks it 5th of 20 and calls it a clear step up from the S1.
On carpet it lifted 87 percent of the embedded sand where the S1 got stuck at 61, pressed-in pet hair was picked up at more than 88 percent and nothing was on the brush after the long-hair test. Obstacle recognition was flawless with 24 of 24 objects avoided, also in the tougher version of the test. Sealed five-layer filtration keeps fine dust inside and the chassis lifts the robot on thick carpet.
The criticism targets mopping: dried stains scored 82 points against a 108 average, partly because of the sparing water output, disappointing for a roller. Route efficiency and estimated area per charge were also below average, it sometimes scattered fine debris on hard floors, it did not always clear a threshold of just over three centimetres and, despite the camera, there is no live view. For homes with plenty of carpet, pet hair and clutter it is one of the best vacuums; anyone mostly wanting to mop should look at a T90 or X12.
