What testers say about the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete
The Dreame X50 Ultra Complete is Dreame's flagship with retractable legs that lift the robot over thresholds up to six centimetres, a lidar that sinks into the body so it stays under nine centimetres tall, two spinning mop pads of which one extends and an extending anti-tangle side brush. The station empties the bin into a 3.2-litre bag, washes the pads in 80-degree water, dries with hot air and doses cleaning solution. TechRadar names it the best premium robot; Vacuum Wars ranks it 14th of 20.
TechRadar calls it perhaps the most complete package on the market: the legs and the retracting turret take it into rooms and under sofas other robots cannot reach, and the cleaning is excellent, with thorough work along edges. Vacuum Wars measured a near-perfect score on pressed-in pet hair, the best so far for a robot with lifting pads, no hair on the brush after the long-hair test and 83 percent of the sand out of carpet against a 75 average. The extending pad and side brush make corners noticeably cleaner.
The criticism: TechRadar found the obstacle recognition patchy and the battery quick to drain, and the price sits among the highest on the market. Vacuum Wars later published a round-up of recurring user complaints with fixes. If you have high thresholds or low furniture and want the most complete package, this is the candidate; if you do not need legs, similar cleaning is available elsewhere for less.
