Reading a foreign shop in English

Some of the shops we compare, such as Amazon Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Poland, show their pages in their own language. Every modern browser translates a page on the spot. This is where the button sits.

Chrome (computer)

  1. Open the shop page. A translate icon appears at the right end of the address bar.
  2. Click it and choose English. Chrome remembers the choice for that site.
  3. No icon? Right-click the page and pick "Translate to English".

Chrome (Android and iPhone)

  1. Tap the three dots at the top right.
  2. Tap "Translate", then choose English at the bottom of the screen.

Safari (Mac, iPhone and iPad)

  1. Tap or click the "aA" button in the address bar.
  2. Choose "Translate to English". Safari offers this once it detects another language.

Firefox

  1. Firefox translates on the device, without sending the page anywhere. A translate icon appears in the address bar on a foreign page.
  2. Click it, choose English and confirm.

Microsoft Edge

  1. A translate icon appears in the address bar on a foreign page.
  2. Click it and choose English, or right-click the page and pick "Translate to English".

Samsung Internet

  1. Tap the menu at the bottom right and choose "Translate".

Prices, delivery times and the order flow stay the same, only the words change. Amazon also lets you switch the interface language yourself, with the globe icon in the top bar.
