What to expect from the Ecovacs Deebot T50 Pro Omni

The Ecovacs Deebot T50 Pro Omni is a slim all-in-one robot: at 81 millimetres it is lower than most robots with a washing station, so it reaches under beds and sofas where taller models stop. It has 15,000 Pa of suction, a side brush and a mop that both extend towards walls and into corners, and a station that empties the bin, washes the mop in 75-degree water, dries it and doses cleaning solution by itself.

The low build is its main argument. Many all-in-one robots are taller because of their lidar turret, and every bit of height saved opens up more space under furniture. The extending side brush and mop aim at the dirt that collects along skirting boards, and detergent dosing means the solution does not have to be measured out by hand.

None of our test sources has measured it, and our specifications leave a lot open: mop type, obstacle sensors, battery and run time are not listed, and thresholds stop at 20 millimetres. The T50 Max Pro Omni offers more suction (18,500 Pa), an 18-millimetre mop lift and camera-based obstacle recognition, but stands 98 millimetres tall. Anyone who needs the lowest robot picks this one, anyone who wants more power the Max Pro.

Based on the maker's specifications and our price data; none of our test sources has tested this model.

From the published dimensions. The robot passes under furniture with 9 cm of clearance or more. The dock needs a spot 35 cm wide and 48 cm deep.

Suction and brushes 4 facts
Suction power

Suction in pascal, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot picks grit off a hard floor.

15,000 Pa
Anti-tangle brush

A brush that guides hair to the side instead of letting it wind around the shaft. It saves the cutting work in homes with long hair or pets.

yes
Extending side brush

The side brush swings out in a corner or along a kickboard, so the dust there is swept in too.

yes
Carpet detection

The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock.

detects carpet
Mopping 4 facts
Mop type

How the mop is built: flat pads, two spinning discs or a roller. Discs press harder on dried-on dirt, a roller rinses itself while it works.

spinning pads
Mop lift on carpet

How far the robot lifts the mop when it drives onto a carpet. From about 10 mm a medium pile stays dry.

9 mm
Mop extends to the edges

The pad slides out along a wall or a kickboard, so the last few centimetres are mopped as well.

yes
Automatic mop detach

The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

no (assumed)
Dock 11 facts
Empties the dust bin

The dock empties the robot’s dust bin, usually after every run. You only empty the dock’s bag or bin.

yes
Bagless

The dock collects dust in a bin instead of a disposable bag. No bags to buy, but you empty it yourself.

no
Dust bag capacity

How much the dust bag in the dock holds.

3 l
Dust bag lasts

How long the maker says a dust bag lasts with daily use. With pets or a lot of carpet it is shorter.

up to 56 days
Washes the mop

The dock washes the mop for you, so you do not rinse it by hand.

yes
Wash temperature

How hot the dock washes the mop. Above 60 °C grease comes off, which is what keeps a mop from smelling.

75 °C
Dries the mop

The dock dries the mop afterwards, so it does not sit there wet and start to smell.

yes
Hot-air drying

Drying is done with warm air instead of cold. It is faster and it helps against smell.

yes
Dispenses detergent

The dock mixes detergent into the water itself, from its own bottle.

yes
Plumbing hookup

The dock can be connected to the tap and the drain, so you never fill or empty a tank. It does need a connection nearby.

yes
Dock size (w × d × h)

The width, depth and height of the dock. Measure the spot you have in mind, and leave room for the lid and for the robot driving in.

35 × 47.7 × 53.3 cm
Navigation and obstacles 4 facts
Navigation

How the robot maps your home and follows that map. Lidar measures with a laser and works in the dark, a camera looks along and recognises more.

built-in LiDAR, no turret
Climbs thresholds up to

The highest threshold the robot takes, as the maker states it. Measure your own: the step into a bathroom or onto a balcony is often higher.

20 mm
Climbing system for high thresholds

An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 2 cm.

no
Stair-edge sensors

Sensors under the robot that see a drop, so it stops at the top of a staircase instead of falling down it.

yes
Robot 5 facts
Robot height

How tall the robot is. It decides whether it fits under your sofa, bed or cabinet.

8.1 cm
Robot diameter

How wide the robot is. Narrower gets between chair legs more easily, wider usually means a bigger dust bin.

35.3 cm
Robot weight

What the robot weighs. It counts most if you carry it up a staircase every day.

3.7 kg
Dust bin in the robot

How much dust the robot holds before you empty it. It matters less with an auto-empty dock, which empties the bin after every run.

260 ml
Noise

The noise in decibels, in the setting its source names: makers mostly give the standard setting, shops often the highest. 65 dB is like a vacuum at half power, 55 dB like a conversation.

63 dB
Battery 3 facts
Battery capacity

The capacity of the battery. It hints at the runtime, but how much the robot draws counts just as much.

6,400 mAh
Runtime per charge

How long the robot cleans on one charge, at its quietest setting. After that it recharges and carries on where it stopped.

255 min
Charging time

How long an empty battery takes to charge fully in the dock.

3.7 h
Smart features and warranty 3 facts
Voice assistants

Which voice assistants the robot works with, such as Google Assistant or Alexa.

Alexa, Google Assistant
Scheduled runs

You set days and times, and the robot starts by itself, also when you are not at home.

yes
Home Assistant

Whether the robot works with Home Assistant, the home automation software you run yourself. Official means the integration comes with Home Assistant itself, community that volunteers maintain it.
