What testers say about the Dreame L50 Ultra
The Dreame L50 Ultra, Dreame's model for the United States, is an all-in-one robot with two spinning mop pads, an extending side brush and mop, and retractable legs that climb thresholds up to 2.4 inches. The station washes the pads in hot water, dries them with hot air and empties the bin into a bag that lasts around a hundred days. Vacuum Wars kept it at the top of its own top 20 for months and now ranks it 16th.
Beyond the lab tests, a Vacuum Wars editor used it for three months in a busy home with children and a dog. The map was ready within minutes, rooms and thresholds were recognized well, and the biggest compliment was that the robot hardly asked for attention: a daily morning vacuum-and-mop run left floors that did not feel gritty underfoot. It usually steered around cables, gave the dog room, and the wheels on the floor were louder than the suction itself.
The criticism from that period: once in a while it drove over a cable and lost a mop pad doing so, a new rug briefly confused the navigation, and it flipped a curled rug corner. Pet hair was handled well but not completely. For a busy household with hard floors, some carpet and high thresholds it remains one of the most carefree robots in its price class.

Frequently asked questions about the Dreame L50 Ultra
1
Does the Dreame L50 Ultra empty its own dust bin?
Yes. The station empties the robot’s dust bin after every run. The 3.2 l dust bag in the station lasts up to 100 days, the maker says.
2
Does the Dreame L50 Ultra wash and dry its own mop?
Yes. The station washes the mop itself, with water at 167 °F (75 °C). It then dries the mop with warm air.
3
Does the Dreame L50 Ultra work with Alexa, Google Home or Siri?
It works with Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.
4
How high a threshold can the Dreame L50 Ultra climb?
Thresholds up to 1.7 in (42 mm), the maker says. It has a climbing system for higher thresholds. Measure your own thresholds: the ones to a bathroom or balcony are often higher.
5
Does the Dreame L50 Ultra fit under low furniture?
The robot is 3.8 in (9.7 cm) tall, so it fits under furniture with at least 3.9 in of clearance.
6
Is the Dreame L50 Ultra suitable for pet hair?
Yes, the maker says. The brush guides hair to the side instead of winding it around the roller.
