The Eureka J20 is an all-in-one robot built around its RollRenew mop: a belt that is rinsed with fresh water and drained of dirty water while it mops, pressing on the floor with 17 newtons. Beyond that, 8,000 Pa of suction, lidar navigation with dual structured-light obstacle recognition, ultrasonic carpet detection that turns the mop to its dry side on carpet, and a station that empties the bin, washes the mop, dries it with 113 °F air, refills and drains the water and doses detergent. TechRadar names it the best robot vacuum for hard floors.
TechRadar calls the belt mop one of the best mopping systems it has seen: because fresh water keeps reaching the mop, spills were cleaned up well, better than by Eureka's own E10s, as long as the robot reached them quickly. On its two highest suction settings it picked up crushed cookies, flour and oats from carpet and hard floors to a good standard, and the lidar map was accurate, with table legs and furniture handled without trouble. The app is easy to use, with named rooms, no-go and no-mop zones and cleaning schedules.
The limits: the two lower suction settings left too much debris behind, and on the settings that do work the robot reaches almost 70 decibels. Eureka quotes up to 130 minutes of run time, and TechRadar found the battery drains up to twice as fast on the highest suction, the setting it needed most of the time. The station is large, and TechRadar notes that the J20 is a new model without a long track record. For homes with mostly hard floors where mopping matters most, few robots mop as well.
