What to expect from the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra

The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra was Roborock's flagship in 2024: 10,000 Pa of suction, the twin DuoRoller brush that lets less hair wrap, a vibrating VibraRise mop pad that lifts 0.8 inches on carpet, a FlexiArm side brush and edge mop that extend, obstacle recognition with a camera and light and a built-in voice assistant. The RockDock Ultra station empties the bin, washes the pad in 140 °F water, dries with hot air, doses detergent and cleans itself.

None of our test sources has rated the S8 MaxV Ultra as a model of its own, but it does turn up as a yardstick in their tests: Vacuum Wars saw the cheaper Qrevo Curv lift more embedded sand out of carpet than the S8 MaxV, and the Dreame X40 Ultra mop away dried coffee and grape-juice stains visibly better than the Roborock's vibrating pad.

That is the caveat too: the vibrating pad has since been overtaken by spinning pads and roller mops, the lidar turret makes the robot over 3.9 inches tall and 10,000 Pa is modest next to the current Saros models. It is no longer Roborock's current flagship, so compare its price with the newer Saros 10 and Qrevo CurvX before buying it.
