The 10 best low-profile robot vacuums you can buy in Germany

The eufy C10 is a budget vacuum-only robot with an auto-empty station: 4,000 Pa of suction, a rolling main brush, a side brush that extends into corners and a body only 72 millimetres tall, low enough to clean under many sofas and beds. The station empties the 600 ml bin into a 3-litre bag that eufy says lasts about 60 days. It navigates with a single laser sensor instead of a spinning lidar turret, and has no mop and no obstacle recognition.

Vacuum Wars found it a powerhouse on carpet: it pulled 86 percent of the sand out of medium-pile carpet, against an average of 75 percent, and lifted all of the flattened pet hair, a result few robots match. The testers call the extending side brush a pleasant surprise at this price, and it covered their floor plan in 58 minutes, close to the 60-minute average, with battery efficiency slightly above average. RTINGS found it great on hard floors, clearing most everyday crumbs and dust, and quiet enough not to bother pets.

The testers disagree on carpet: RTINGS saw it leave fine particles in high-pile carpet and a noticeable amount of pet hair behind, and found debris along walls and in corners despite the extending brush. Both agree that it runs into whatever lies on the floor: it catches rug tassels in its brush and does not reliably avoid pet waste, so clear the floor before a run. Its route is less methodical than that of a lidar robot, and Vacuum Wars measured below-average suction and airflow on the bench. For a tight budget and a home that needs no mopping, Vacuum Wars calls it a good-value choice.

The Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 succeeds one of Vacuum Wars' favourites, with two spinning mop pads of which one extends, a split anti-tangle main brush, a retractable lidar and a body eight centimetres tall. The station empties the bin, washes the pads in hot water and dries them with hot air. Vacuum Wars ranks it 10th of 20 and calls it a strong all-rounder in the upper mid-range.

Vacuuming is the big step forward over the first Edge: 94 percent of the embedded sand came out of the carpet, the second-highest score ever measured, and pet hair pickup reached almost 90 percent where its predecessor stayed below average. After the long-hair test nothing was wrapped around the brush. Mopping and route efficiency scored well too, and the low build fits under furniture the previous generation could not reach.

The criticism: obstacle recognition scores below average, threshold height is down to two centimetres from the first Edge, the onboard bin is small and the battery lasts a little shorter. The station does not dose detergent. For homes with plenty of carpet and pet hair, no high thresholds and not too much clutter on the floor, it is one of the better buys whenever it is on offer.

The Roborock Saros 20 is a flagship with an embedded lidar and no turret, keeping it under eight centimetres tall, a lifting chassis that carries the robot over thresholds of more than four centimetres and adapts to thick carpet, two spinning mop pads that detach automatically, and a station that washes in boiling-hot water, dries with hot air and doses detergent. TechRadar names it the best robot for carpet, Tom's Guide the best for pet hair, and Vacuum Wars ranks it 11th of 20.

All three testers see the same strength: embedded pet hair and sand in carpet. Tom's Guide measured the effect of the 36,000 Pa of suction, the highest in their guide, and saw the twin anti-tangle brush stay clean even after heavy runs; Vacuum Wars lifted 89 percent of the sand out of carpet and 88 percent of the pressed-in pet hair, with a perfect score in the long-hair test. Obstacle recognition dodged toys and bowls reliably, and the low build takes it under furniture a turret cannot. The pads press with adaptive force and use less water than average, which limits streaks.

The criticism targets mopping and price: Tom's Guide saw patches missed and visible streaks in the lab, TechRadar still finds sticky spills a job for a cloth, and both call it more machine than many homes need, at a price to match. TechRadar also saw the odd strange behaviour on certain tasks. For homes with plenty of carpet, thick rugs, high thresholds and shedding pets it is one of the best choices; if mopping is the priority, look at a roller-mop model.

The Roborock Saros Z70 is the first robot with a mechanical arm that rises from the top to move socks, cloths and slippers out of the way, on top of everything the flagship Saros 10R already has: an embedded lidar without a turret, a climbing chassis, two spinning mop pads that lift 22 millimetres and can stay behind in the station, and a station that washes in 80-degree water and doses detergent. Vacuum Wars gave it its award for the most innovative robot of mid-2025.

Mopping was a standout: on dried stains the second-highest score ever measured, 139 points against 103 for the Saros 10R and a 93 average, with the least residual water in the test. Debris of every size came off hard floors and carpet, the extending side brush handled corners well and the station empties the bin into a 2.7-litre bag and cleans itself. At under eight centimetres it fits under most furniture.

The arm itself is the weak spot: it only recognises paper balls, fabrics and one style of slipper, picked objects up sometimes and sometimes not in the tests, and did not always put them in the right place. The testers call the feature a glimpse of the future rather than a reason to buy today, and the price is among the very highest. The station dries the pads without hot air. Anyone wanting the Saros 10R's equipment with the arm as a bonus can consider it once the price approaches the 10R's.

The iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max is the first Roomba with a station that washes and dries the mop, besides emptying the bin into a bag that lasts about two months. The mop is a pad that is lifted entirely on top of the robot when it meets carpet, navigation works with a camera and floor sensors, and obstacles are recognised by a camera with an LED light. Vacuum Wars bought two units to be sure of its findings and calls it a letdown for iRobot fans.

What held up is the vacuuming: pressed-in pet hair was picked up completely, one of only two robots to manage that in the test, embedded sand from carpet produced one of the best scores on record, tied sixth of more than a hundred robots, and obstacle recognition scored above average. At 58 decibels it is quiet, and at 87 millimetres fairly flat.

The criticism is firm. Mapping took four times longer than with other robots, runs take longer than average, coverage stayed below average and the robot got confused when moved mid-task. The app offers few settings and was unstable in the test. The mopping system lags the competition: the pad is not detached automatically and the station dries without hot air. Anyone attached to iRobot with mostly carpet and pet hair can consider it at a hefty discount; anyone who wants to mop gets more elsewhere.

The Dreame Matrix10 Ultra is Dreame's most elaborate model: a station that swaps automatically between three mop pads, a soft absorbent one for the bathroom, one with nylon bristles for scrubbing and a standard pad, with three separate compartments of solution for wood, general use and pet odour. The robot itself has retractable legs, a retractable lidar, an extending side brush and mop, and a station that washes in boiling-hot water and dries with hot air. Vacuum Wars tested it for weeks and compared it with the far cheaper L50 Ultra.

Pad swapping worked reliably in practice, bar one error message that vanished after a restart. Bench suction was above average and well above the L50 Ultra, nothing was wrapped around the split main brush after the long-hair test and pressed-in pet hair was picked up at an above-average rate. Debris of every kind came off hard floors and carpet, and the complete station takes almost all maintenance off your hands.

The criticism is mainly the price: nearly every feature is also on the L50 Ultra, which Vacuum Wars names the best robot under a thousand dollars, and the Matrix10 costs a lot more for the swapping station alone. The testers also reserve judgement on the durability of all those moving parts, as user ratings were still scarce. If you want a different pad and solution per room without lifting a finger, this is unique; if you do not, buy the L50 Ultra.

The MOVA V50 Ultra Complete is an all-in-one robot with two spinning mop pads of which one extends, an extending side brush, a retractable lidar and a climbing system for thresholds up to six centimetres. The station empties the bin into a 3.2-litre bag good for about a hundred days, washes the pads in hot water, dries them with hot air and doses cleaning solution or a pet-odour formula. Vacuum Wars put it first in its own top 20 after testing; it now sits 19th, overtaken by newer models.

In the tests it lifted 88 percent of the sand embedded in carpet, a top-ten score of all time at Vacuum Wars, and pressed-in pet hair was picked up at 88 percent against an 81 average. The twin main brush channels hair to one side and came out of the long-hair test spotless. The extending side brush made corners noticeably cleaner, and the testers praised the price, clearly below similarly equipped Roborock and Ecovacs models.

The criticism is limited and mostly relative: rivals have since mopped better and climbed higher thresholds, and Vacuum Wars publishes no threshold measurement for this model. Without a water hookup you refill the clean tank yourself. For flagship equipment at a mid-range price this remains one of the better buys.

The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra, sold in the United States as the L50 Ultra, is an all-in-one robot with two spinning mop pads, an extending side brush and mop, and retractable legs that climb thresholds up to six centimetres. The station washes the pads in hot water, dries them with hot air and empties the bin into a bag that lasts around a hundred days. Vacuum Wars kept it at the top of its own top 20 for months and now ranks it 16th.

Beyond the lab tests, a Vacuum Wars editor used it for three months in a busy home with children and a dog. The map was ready within minutes, rooms and thresholds were recognised well, and the biggest compliment was that the robot hardly asked for attention: a daily morning vacuum-and-mop run left floors that did not feel gritty underfoot. It usually steered around cables, gave the dog room, and the wheels on the floor were louder than the suction itself.

The criticism from that period: once in a while it drove over a cable and lost a mop pad doing so, a new rug briefly confused the navigation, and it flipped a curled rug corner. Pet hair was handled well but not completely. For a busy household with hard floors, some carpet and high thresholds it remains one of the most carefree robots in its price class.

The MOVA Mobius 60 is a flagship with a station that swaps automatically between three kinds of mop pads, one for kitchen grease, a soft one for wooden floors and an all-rounder, and washes the pads in boiling-hot water, sanitises them with UV and dries them along with the dust bag. The robot has retractable legs for thresholds up to eight centimetres, a retractable lidar, an extending side brush and an extending mop. Vacuum Wars ranks it 3rd of 20.

In the tests it lifted 88 percent of the embedded sand out of carpet, one of the highest scores on record, and 94 percent of the pressed-in pet hair against an 81 average, both better than the pricier Dreame Matrix10 Ultra Vacuum Wars compared it with. A flap that drops on carpet half-seals the intake and raises suction there, which showed in crevices too. The split main brush channels hair to one side, and the side brush extends for corners.

The reservations are limited: the station is big, the 3.2-litre bag is rated for only about a month of daily use, and it recognises obstacles with 3D structured light rather than a camera, which is less certain with socks and cables. There is no water-line hookup. For anyone wanting vacuuming, mopping with swappable pads and high thresholds in one robot, this is one of the best-tested models of the year.
