The 10 best robot vacuums for pet hair you can buy in Germany

The Roborock Saros 20 is a flagship with an embedded lidar and no turret, keeping it under eight centimetres tall, a lifting chassis that carries the robot over thresholds of more than four centimetres and adapts to thick carpet, two spinning mop pads that detach automatically, and a station that washes in boiling-hot water, dries with hot air and doses detergent. TechRadar names it the best robot for carpet, Tom's Guide the best for pet hair, and Vacuum Wars ranks it 11th of 20.

All three testers see the same strength: embedded pet hair and sand in carpet. Tom's Guide measured the effect of the 36,000 Pa of suction, the highest in their guide, and saw the twin anti-tangle brush stay clean even after heavy runs; Vacuum Wars lifted 89 percent of the sand out of carpet and 88 percent of the pressed-in pet hair, with a perfect score in the long-hair test. Obstacle recognition dodged toys and bowls reliably, and the low build takes it under furniture a turret cannot. The pads press with adaptive force and use less water than average, which limits streaks.

The criticism targets mopping and price: Tom's Guide saw patches missed and visible streaks in the lab, TechRadar still finds sticky spills a job for a cloth, and both call it more machine than many homes need, at a price to match. TechRadar also saw the odd strange behaviour on certain tasks. For homes with plenty of carpet, thick rugs, high thresholds and shedding pets it is one of the best choices; if mopping is the priority, look at a roller-mop model.

The Roborock Saros Z70 is the first robot with a mechanical arm that rises from the top to move socks, cloths and slippers out of the way, on top of everything the flagship Saros 10R already has: an embedded lidar without a turret, a climbing chassis, two spinning mop pads that lift 22 millimetres and can stay behind in the station, and a station that washes in 80-degree water and doses detergent. Vacuum Wars gave it its award for the most innovative robot of mid-2025.

Mopping was a standout: on dried stains the second-highest score ever measured, 139 points against 103 for the Saros 10R and a 93 average, with the least residual water in the test. Debris of every size came off hard floors and carpet, the extending side brush handled corners well and the station empties the bin into a 2.7-litre bag and cleans itself. At under eight centimetres it fits under most furniture.

The arm itself is the weak spot: it only recognises paper balls, fabrics and one style of slipper, picked objects up sometimes and sometimes not in the tests, and did not always put them in the right place. The testers call the feature a glimpse of the future rather than a reason to buy today, and the price is among the very highest. The station dries the pads without hot air. Anyone wanting the Saros 10R's equipment with the arm as a bonus can consider it once the price approaches the 10R's.

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra is an all-in-one robot with two spinning mop pads, an extending side brush, a comb in the main brush that cuts hair loose, and a station that washes the pads in hot water, dries them with hot air, doses detergent and empties the bin into a bag of just over three litres. RTINGS names it the best mid-range robot; Vacuum Wars bought it as the successor to the award-winning P10 Pro Ultra and came away with a mixed verdict.

What the testers liked: mopping is a big step forward, with a dried-stain score well above the class average, and the pads can stay in the station for a vacuum-only run. Almost nothing stayed wrapped around the brush after the long-hair test, and the app is among the most polished according to Vacuum Wars, with maps per floor, a 3D view, zones and a built-in voice assistant. The station cleans its own washboard and lets you set how often it empties.

The criticism is about vacuuming: on the bench the P50 Pro Ultra came in below the cheaper P10 Pro Ultra and below the class average, and on carpet it underperformed. There is no water-line hookup. If you mainly mop hard floors and want a complete app, it fits; for lots of carpet the P10 Pro Ultra or a stronger vacuum is the better choice.

The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra, sold in the United States as the L50 Ultra, is an all-in-one robot with two spinning mop pads, an extending side brush and mop, and retractable legs that climb thresholds up to six centimetres. The station washes the pads in hot water, dries them with hot air and empties the bin into a bag that lasts around a hundred days. Vacuum Wars kept it at the top of its own top 20 for months and now ranks it 16th.

Beyond the lab tests, a Vacuum Wars editor used it for three months in a busy home with children and a dog. The map was ready within minutes, rooms and thresholds were recognised well, and the biggest compliment was that the robot hardly asked for attention: a daily morning vacuum-and-mop run left floors that did not feel gritty underfoot. It usually steered around cables, gave the dog room, and the wheels on the floor were louder than the suction itself.

The criticism from that period: once in a while it drove over a cable and lost a mop pad doing so, a new rug briefly confused the navigation, and it flipped a curled rug corner. Pet hair was handled well but not completely. For a busy household with hard floors, some carpet and high thresholds it remains one of the most carefree robots in its price class.

The Narwal Freo 20 is a roller-mop robot from 2026: its FlowWash roller is flushed with fresh water while it mops, and the dirty water is sucked away at once, so it is not spread over the floor again. It has 31,000 Pa of suction, DualFlow main and side brushes built against hair wrap, obstacle recognition with two cameras and TwinAI that, according to Narwal, knows more than 300 types of household object, and it takes double thresholds of up to 4 centimetres. The station washes the roller in water of up to 100 degrees, dries it with air of up to 60 degrees, refills the robot and holds up to 120 days of dust.

On paper it matches the Narwal Flow 2, which TechRadar and Vacuum Wars tested, in several places: the same 31,000 Pa, a self-rinsing roller, a two-camera obstacle system, a wash of up to 100 degrees and 120 days of dust. Our specifications do not show whether it doses detergent or can be connected to the water supply, both of which the Flow 2 can.

None of our test sources has measured the Freo 20. Whether it avoids the Flow 2's weak spots in the tests, dried stains and edges, is not yet known. At 95 millimetres the robot is of average height, and our specifications list no battery or run time. Anyone who wants a Narwal with a roller mop and camera recognition on the strength of test results can look at the Flow 2.

The Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 succeeds one of Vacuum Wars' favourites, with two spinning mop pads of which one extends, a split anti-tangle main brush, a retractable lidar and a body eight centimetres tall. The station empties the bin, washes the pads in hot water and dries them with hot air. Vacuum Wars ranks it 10th of 20 and calls it a strong all-rounder in the upper mid-range.

Vacuuming is the big step forward over the first Edge: 94 percent of the embedded sand came out of the carpet, the second-highest score ever measured, and pet hair pickup reached almost 90 percent where its predecessor stayed below average. After the long-hair test nothing was wrapped around the brush. Mopping and route efficiency scored well too, and the low build fits under furniture the previous generation could not reach.

The criticism: obstacle recognition scores below average, threshold height is down to two centimetres from the first Edge, the onboard bin is small and the battery lasts a little shorter. The station does not dose detergent. For homes with plenty of carpet and pet hair, no high thresholds and not too much clutter on the floor, it is one of the better buys whenever it is on offer.

The Narwal Flow is Narwal's first robot with a roller mop: a flat, track-shaped mop that is sprayed with 45-degree water and scraped clean while it mops, and that moves out sideways towards walls. Beyond that, 22,000 Pa of suction, a floating main brush and side brushes built against hair wrap, obstacle recognition with two cameras, and a lidar built into the back of the body instead of a turret on top, which keeps the robot 9.5 centimetres tall. It climbs thresholds of up to 4 centimetres. The station empties the bin into a 2.5-litre bag, washes the mop in 80-degree water and dries it with hot air, but adds no detergent by itself: cleaning solution goes into the clean-water tank by hand.

Mopping is where the testers agree. Vacuum Wars measured one of the highest combined mopping scores it has recorded, with less water left behind than average, Tom's Guide saw it clean dried ketchup better than a plug-in steam cleaner, and TechRadar found the mop still looking new after weeks of use. Hair does not wrap: nothing wound around the brush in Vacuum Wars' long-hair test, Tom's Guide rarely had to pull hair off the roller, and on carpet it lifted 83 percent of the embedded sand, against an average of 76 percent. TechRadar and Tom's Guide praise its obstacle avoidance, with a sock, a shoe and a charging cable all dodged in TechRadar's test, and Vacuum Wars measured the best battery efficiency it had seen.

The criticism is about navigation and software. RTINGS found that its route planning skips whole sections, so it left a lot of debris along edges and in corners on hard floors and carpet, and dragged pet hair around instead of picking it up. Tom's Guide also found edge cleaning mediocre and saw it tumble down a kitchen step, and TechRadar watched it spill the contents of its bin, report a room as cleaned without entering it and bury its settings in an app with clumsy translations. For homes with mostly hard floors on one level, where mopping matters most, it is one of the best-mopping robots the testers have seen. Its successor, the Flow 2, adds detergent dosing and 31,000 Pa.

The MOVA V50 Ultra Complete is an all-in-one robot with two spinning mop pads of which one extends, an extending side brush, a retractable lidar and a climbing system for thresholds up to six centimetres. The station empties the bin into a 3.2-litre bag good for about a hundred days, washes the pads in hot water, dries them with hot air and doses cleaning solution or a pet-odour formula. Vacuum Wars put it first in its own top 20 after testing; it now sits 19th, overtaken by newer models.

In the tests it lifted 88 percent of the sand embedded in carpet, a top-ten score of all time at Vacuum Wars, and pressed-in pet hair was picked up at 88 percent against an 81 average. The twin main brush channels hair to one side and came out of the long-hair test spotless. The extending side brush made corners noticeably cleaner, and the testers praised the price, clearly below similarly equipped Roborock and Ecovacs models.

The criticism is limited and mostly relative: rivals have since mopped better and climbed higher thresholds, and Vacuum Wars publishes no threshold measurement for this model. Without a water hookup you refill the clean tank yourself. For flagship equipment at a mid-range price this remains one of the better buys.

The Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni is an all-in-one robot with a roller mop that rinses itself while mopping, an embedded lidar without a turret that keeps it fairly low, and a station that washes the roller in warm water, dries it with hot air and empties the bin into a bag good for up to a hundred and fifty days. Vacuum Wars calls it the best Ecovacs it has ever tested, ranks it 7th of 20 and names it its best-value pick.

On the bench it produced the highest airflow in its class and more than twice the suction of the Dreame L50 Ultra, its direct rival. Pet hair pickup reached a rare hundred percent, and after the long-hair test nothing was wrapped around the brush. The roller scored almost fifty percent above average on dried stains, the second-highest mopping score Vacuum Wars has recorded, and it avoided 23 of 24 obstacles. Matter support, fast charging and an efficient battery are on the plus side too.

The main criticism is the small 250 ml bin, about thirty percent below average, though the station compensates by emptying it often. Navigation was slightly more efficient than average but showed the odd strange route, and threshold height of around three centimetres is ordinary rather than exceptional. Anyone wanting strong suction and a real roller mop without paying flagship money will find one of this year's best deals here.

The Eufy Omni C28 is a mid-range robot with a roller mop that is sprayed with clean water while it works while dirty water is collected separately, camera-based obstacle recognition and a station that empties the bin, washes the roller and dries it with 50-degree air. Vacuum Wars calls it perhaps the best Eufy yet and ranks it 18th of 20, largely for the price-to-performance ratio.

The testers were impressed by the mopping: the roller turns at 270 rpm, presses almost a kilogram onto the floor, scored 119 on dried stains against a 108 average and left only a quarter of the usual water behind, good for a place in the top ten of all mopping systems tested. Vacuuming was strong too: 89 percent of the embedded sand out of carpet, pressed-in pet hair picked up completely and no hair on the brush after the long-hair test. The route was more efficient than average and the app offers maps per floor.

The criticism: obstacle recognition avoided only 15 of 24 objects, below average, at eleven centimetres the robot is tall for low furniture, battery efficiency was below average and the app lacks a few automations rivals offer. Thresholds stop at just under two centimetres and the station does not dose detergent. For a tidy home with hard floors and some carpet it is one of the sharpest-priced roller mops; anyone with lots of clutter on the floor should look at a model with better obstacle recognition.
