What to expect from the Dreame X40 Master
The Dreame X40 Master is the X40 Ultra with a different station and the same robot: 12,000 Pa of suction, an extending mop pad and side brush, pads that lift 10.5 millimetres on carpet and work with 32 water levels, obstacle recognition with a camera and 3D structured light and a 6,400 mAh battery. The station empties the bin into a 4.2-litre bag for a hundred days, washes the pads in 70-degree water, dries with hot air, doses detergent and can be connected to the water line.
The X40 Ultra Complete has been praised by two test sources: Vacuum Wars saw it score well above average in the carpet deep-clean test, mop away dried coffee and grape-juice stains better than the Roborock S8 MaxV and earn a perfect obstacle score as only the second robot ever; TechRadar calls it the smartest robot vacuum yet, with thorough vacuuming and mopping and a long run time for large homes.
The criticism of that Complete applies here too: long hair wrapped around the standard brush, the app is clunky at times, the station empties the bin with little force and the running costs for bags and solution are high. The X50 and X60 models have since arrived with climbing legs and far more suction. The Master has not been measured separately by any of our test sources; it is worth it when it is clearly cheaper than the Complete.
Based on the maker's specifications and our price data; none of our test sources has tested this model.
