What testers say about the Dreame X40 Ultra Complete
The Dreame X40 Ultra Complete is the European name of the X40 Ultra: 12,000 Pa of suction, a swinging side brush, two spinning mop pads of which one extends, magnetic pads the robot can leave in the station to vacuum carpet first, and a station that empties the bin into a 3.2-litre bag, washes the pads with hot water and dries them with hot air, cleans itself and refills water with a cleaning solution of your choice. Vacuum Wars called it better than the robot the site had crowned best shortly before; TechRadar calls it the smartest robot vacuum yet.
In the carpet deep-clean test at Vacuum Wars it scored well above average, where earlier Dreames fell short, and on dried coffee and grape-juice stains it visibly beat the Roborock S8 MaxV. Obstacle recognition earned a perfect score, only the second robot ever to do so, coverage of the test floor was near complete and the 6,400 mAh battery is among the largest on the market, with above-average efficiency. TechRadar praises the thorough vacuuming and mopping, the excellent mapping, the cleaning under furniture edges, leaving the pads behind for high-pile carpet and the long run time for large homes.
The criticism: long hair wrapped around the standard brush at Vacuum Wars, TechRadar found the app clunky at times, the suction with which the station empties the bin weak and the running costs for bags, pads and solution high. The corner brush did corners no more than decently, according to the testers. Anyone after a complete, proven top model with all the automation, who does not need the newer X50 and X60, still finds one of Dreame's strongest robots here.
