What testers say about the eufy Omni E25

The Eufy Omni E25 is the roller-mop version of Eufy's upper mid-range: an anti-tangle main brush, two side brushes of which one extends, a roller mop that presses on the floor with 14.7 newtons and lifts a centimetre on carpet, camera-based obstacle recognition with a light, and a station that empties, washes, dries, drains and refills. Vacuum Wars calls it the most impressive Eufy yet and TechRadar a very capable hybrid for a reasonable price.

In the carpet deep-clean test at Vacuum Wars it removed 88 percent of the embedded dirt against a 75 percent average, the roller scored 115 on dried stains and 218 in the combined mopping test against 188 on average, and it picks up wet messes into the onboard dirty-water tank. The camera avoided 21 of 24 obstacles against an average of 17 and the lidar covered the test floor in 38 minutes where the average is an hour. TechRadar praises the mopping on the top setting, the low noise, the simple controls, the station that is compact for a hybrid and the transparent water tank.

The criticism: the roller leaves slightly more water behind than average, which can streak on dark floors, TechRadar found edge cleaning mediocre, mapping sometimes took a few attempts, the automatic suction adjustment was unreliable and the robot occasionally returned to the station mid-clean. The station washes with 50-degree water, not boiling water. With the regular discounts, both testers rate it as one of the better buys in its class; anyone who wants the detachable spot cleaner too should look at the E28.

What the tests like and dislike about the eufy Omni E25

Pros

Cons

  • Its mop roller stays put, so wall edges get less mopping Vacuum Wars ↗
  • The app lacks live video and floor-direction mopping Vacuum Wars ↗
  • Smaller onboard dust bin than most, a drawback with heavy shedders Vacuum Wars ↗
  • Does not get close enough to walls for a thorough edge clean TechRadar ↗
  • Returns to the dock often mid-clean, so jobs take longer TechRadar ↗
  • The first mapping run needs clear floors to produce a complete map TechRadar ↗

Consumables: a 3 l dust bag in the station, which lasts up to 75 days.

Dimensionsrobot and dock

Dock, from the front 43.6 cm high 46.1 cm deep 43.6 cm 36.9 cm wide Robot, from the side 35.2 cm across 11.1 cm

From the published dimensions. The robot passes under furniture with 12 cm of clearance or more. The dock needs a spot 37 cm wide and 46 cm deep.

Suction and brushes 7 facts
Suction power

Suction in pascal, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot picks grit off a hard floor.

20,000 Pa
Anti-tangle brush

A brush that guides hair to the side instead of letting it wind around the shaft. It saves the cutting work in homes with long hair or pets.

yes
Extending side brush

The side brush swings out in a corner or along a kickboard, so the dust there is swept in too. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

yes
Carpet detection

The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock.

detects carpet
Suitable for pet hair

Whether the robot copes with pet hair: a brush that hair does not wind around and a dock that empties the bin for you. Where the maker does not say so itself, we read it from those two.

yes
Filter type

The filter the exhaust air passes through. A HEPA filter holds back fine dust and pollen, which counts if someone at home has an allergy.

multicyclone
Dirt detection

A sensor notices where more dirt lies, at the doormat for example, and the robot cleans that patch longer or a second time.

yes
Mopping 6 facts
Mop type

How the mop is built: flat pads, two spinning discs or a roller. Discs press harder on dried-on dirt, a roller rinses itself while it works.

roller mop
Mop lift on carpet

How far the robot lifts the mop when it drives onto a carpet. From about 10 mm a medium pile stays dry.

10.5 mm
Mop extends to the edges

The pad slides out along a wall or a kickboard, so the last few centimetres are mopped as well.

no
Automatic mop detach

The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet.

no
Mop refreshed while mopping

The robot returns to the dock during a run to rinse the mop, instead of pushing dirty water around.

yes
Water tank in the robot

How much clean water the robot carries. It sets how long it mops before a refill, which a dock does by itself.

120 ml
Dock 12 facts
Empties the dust bin

The dock empties the robot’s dust bin, usually after every run. You only empty the dock’s bag or bin.

yes
Bagless

The dock collects dust in a bin instead of a disposable bag. No bags to buy, but you empty it yourself.

no
Dust bag capacity

How much the dust bag in the dock holds.

3 l
Dust bag lasts

How long the maker says a dust bag lasts with daily use. With pets or a lot of carpet it is shorter.

up to 75 days
Washes the mop

The dock washes the mop for you, so you do not rinse it by hand. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

yes
Dries the mop

The dock dries the mop afterwards, so it does not sit there wet and start to smell.

yes
Hot-air drying

Drying is done with warm air instead of cold. It is faster and it helps against smell.

yes
Dispenses detergent

The dock mixes detergent into the water itself, from its own bottle.

yes
Plumbing hookup

The dock can be connected to the tap and the drain, so you never fill or empty a tank. It does need a connection nearby.

no
Clean water tank

The clean water tank in the dock, which wets the mop.

2.5 l
Dirty water tank

The tank that catches the dirty water from the mop. You empty this one yourself.

1.8 l
Dock size (w × d × h)

The width, depth and height of the dock. Measure the spot you have in mind, and leave room for the lid and for the robot driving in.

36.9 × 46.1 × 43.6 cm
Navigation and obstacles 5 facts
Navigation

How the robot maps your home and follows that map. Lidar measures with a laser and works in the dark, a camera looks along and recognises more.

LiDAR turret
Obstacle avoidance

How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact.

AI camera
Climbs thresholds up to

The highest threshold the robot takes, as the maker states it. Measure your own: the step into a bathroom or onto a balcony is often higher.

21 mm
Climbing system for high thresholds

An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 2 cm.

no
Camera on board

Whether the robot has a camera, and what for: to recognise obstacles, or also to show you a live picture of your home in the app.

obstacle camera
Robot 5 facts
Robot height

How tall the robot is. It decides whether it fits under your sofa, bed or cabinet.

11.1 cm
Robot diameter

How wide the robot is. Narrower gets between chair legs more easily, wider usually means a bigger dust bin.

35.2 cm
Robot weight

What the robot weighs. It counts most if you carry it up a staircase every day.

5.2 kg
Dust bin in the robot

How much dust the robot holds before you empty it. It matters less with an auto-empty dock, which empties the bin after every run.

300 ml
Noise

The noise in decibels, in the setting its source names: makers mostly give the standard setting, shops often the highest. 65 dB is like a vacuum at half power, 55 dB like a conversation. On this model: maximum noise level according to Coolblue.

63 dB
Battery 2 facts
Battery capacity

The capacity of the battery. It hints at the runtime, but how much the robot draws counts just as much.

5,200 mAh
Runtime per charge

How long the robot cleans on one charge, at its quietest setting. After that it recharges and carries on where it stopped.

216 min
Smart features and warranty 3 facts
Matter

Matter is the standard that lets devices from different makers work together. With it you can run the robot outside the maker’s own app. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

yes
Voice assistants

Which voice assistants the robot works with, such as Google Assistant or Alexa. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

Warranty

The warranty the maker gives in the Netherlands. Consumer law here stands apart from it and can last longer.
