The Narwal Freo 20 is a roller-mop robot from 2026: its FlowWash roller is flushed with fresh water while it mops, and the dirty water is sucked away at once, so it is not spread over the floor again. It has 31,000 Pa of suction, DualFlow main and side brushes built against hair wrap, obstacle recognition with two cameras and TwinAI that, according to Narwal, knows more than 300 types of household object, and it takes double thresholds of up to 4 centimetres. The station washes the roller in water of up to 100 degrees, dries it with air of up to 60 degrees, refills the robot and holds up to 120 days of dust.
On paper it matches the Narwal Flow 2, which TechRadar and Vacuum Wars tested, in several places: the same 31,000 Pa, a self-rinsing roller, a two-camera obstacle system, a wash of up to 100 degrees and 120 days of dust. Our specifications do not show whether it doses detergent or can be connected to the water supply, both of which the Flow 2 can.
None of our test sources has measured the Freo 20. Whether it avoids the Flow 2's weak spots in the tests, dried stains and edges, is not yet known. At 95 millimetres the robot is of average height, and our specifications list no battery or run time. Anyone who wants a Narwal with a roller mop and camera recognition on the strength of test results can look at the Flow 2.

Narwal Freo 20 specifications
The numbers that matter first, then every fact by group. As published by the maker or the shop we read it from.
The side brush swings out in a corner or along a kickboard, so the dust there is swept in too. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

Carpet detection
When it matters
Rugs and carpets, where the robot should raise its suction.
Mopping in a home with rugs, which have to stay dry.
The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock.

Suitable for pet hair
When it matters
Dogs and cats that shed.
Long-haired pets, whose hair wraps around a brush.
Without pets, ordinary hair and dust need nothing special.

Whether the robot copes with pet hair: a brush that hair does not wind around and a dock that empties the bin for you. Where the maker does not say so itself, we read it from those two.
yes
Dirt detection
When it matters
Entrances and kitchens, where dirt gathers in one place.
Pets that leave hair in a favourite spot.
If dirt is spread evenly, a normal pass cleans it just as well.
How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact.
The maker says the robot recognises a pet accident and drives around it, so it does not smear it across the floor. This is the maker’s claim, not a test of ours.

Frequently asked questions about the Narwal Freo 20
1
Does the Narwal Freo 20 empty its own dust bin?
Yes. The station empties the robot’s dust bin after every run. The 2.4 l dust bag in the station lasts up to 120 days, the maker says.
2
Does the Narwal Freo 20 wash and dry its own mop?
Yes. The station washes the mop itself, with water at 100 °C. It then dries the mop with warm air.
3
Does the Narwal Freo 20 work with Alexa, Google Home or Siri?
It works with Alexa and Google Assistant.
4
How high a threshold can the Narwal Freo 20 climb?
Thresholds up to 40 mm, the maker says. It has no climbing system for higher thresholds. Measure your own thresholds: the ones to a bathroom or balcony are often higher.
5
Does the Narwal Freo 20 fit under low furniture?
The robot is 9.5 cm tall, so it fits under furniture with at least 10 cm of clearance. It has no turret on top.
6
Is the Narwal Freo 20 suitable for pet hair?
Yes, the maker says. The brush guides hair to the side instead of winding it round the roller. The maker says it also recognises a pet’s accident and drives round it.
Narwal makes robot vacuums and wet and dry vacuums. It was founded between 2016 and 2018 by Junbin Zhang and brought out its first robot vacuum, which washes its own mop, in 2019. Its privacy policy gives a postal address for the company in Shenzhen, China.
