What testers say about the Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra
The Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra is the flagship of Narwal's Z range: 18,000 Pa of suction, DualFlow main and side brushes against hair wrap, two triangular spinning mop pads that press down with 8 newtons, swing out along edges and lift 12 millimetres on carpet, and obstacle recognition with two cameras, dual AI chips and a light for dark rooms. The robot carries no water tank of its own. The station empties the bin for up to 120 days, washes the pads in 75-degree water, dries them with 40-degree air and doses detergent.
TechRadar found its mopping up with the best it has seen, especially along edges and under kitchen cabinets, where the extending pads reach, and it took muddy paw prints, puddles, coffee drips and dried yogurt in its stride. Obstacle avoidance was excellent, with shoes and cables avoided and photographed in the app, and after weeks with a dog and long hair in the house the brushes were virtually free of hair. Everyday vacuuming of crumbs, dog hair and pine needles on hard floors and medium-pile rugs was solid, and the battery lasted nearly two and a half hours before the robot went back to charge.
The weak spots are software and reliability: the auto-empty was hit-or-miss even when set to empty after every run, the Freo Mind smart features made things worse rather than better, the app is overwhelming and the robot did not always complete its tasks. It struggled with larger spills and with edges under low cabinets, where its lidar turret makes it too tall at 110 millimetres, left an unmopped margin around rugs and uses a lot of water. For hard floors that need excellent mopping it delivers, as long as you are prepared to set it up by hand.
