What to expect from the Roborock Qrevo 5AE
The Roborock Qrevo 5AE is an entry model in the Qrevo line: 12,000 Pa of suction, an anti-tangle brush, two spinning mop pads of which one extends along edges and which lift a centimetre on carpet, lidar navigation and a station that empties the bin, washes and dries the pads, refills the water tank and collects the dirty water. The robot is 96.5 millimetres tall and 64 decibels is quoted.
On paper it sits close to the Qrevo S5V, which Vacuum Wars measured with the same 12,000 Pa: 92 percent of the embedded sand out of carpet, the fourth-best score among more than 150 robots, 92 percent of the pressed-in pet hair and a mopping score well above average. The 5AE's extending mop arm is an extra the S5V lacks.
The criticism of the S5V presumably applies here too: the station washes without hot water and dries without hot air, more water may be left on the floor, thresholds stop at two centimetres and the lidar sits in a fixed turret. Obstacle recognition and detergent are absent. None of our test sources has measured the 5AE itself; it is interesting when it is cheaper than the S5V.
