How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact.
When it matters
Cables, socks and toys left on the floor.
Pets, whose accidents a robot should steer around.
In a home that is tidied before each run it matters less.

For anyone wanting a complete hot-water dock and Roborock's best hair handling without paying for the flagship, it is a strong choice, as long as edges and big spills are not the priority.
The Roborock Qrevo Edge pairs the robot of the Qrevo Curv with a squarer, more conventional dock: 18,500 Pa of suction, the DuoDivide main brush and an arc-shaped FlexiArm side brush against hair wrap, two spinning mops of which one extends towards the edge, mops that lift 20 millimetres on carpet, and a chassis that lifts itself over thresholds of up to 30 millimetres, or 40 millimetres for a double sill. The dock empties the bin, washes the mops in 75-degree water, dries them with 45-degree air and cleans its own tray.
Vacuum Wars found no long hair at all wrapped around its brushes, where the average robot it tests tangles almost 40 percent, saw it pick up 80 percent of flattened pet hair from carpet, scored its dried-stain mopping above average while using less water than the Curv, and rated its navigation and its 240-minute battery well above average. TechRadar praised its carpet and hard-floor vacuuming, the efficient automatic cleaning plan and a dock that asks little of you.
The criticism: TechRadar found it regularly missed room edges, particularly when mopping, and that it could spread a tough kitchen spill rather than lift it, and its dirty-water tank and dust bag gave off a smell when left. Vacuum Wars saw it avoid about 66 percent of its test obstacles, just above average.
Roborock Qrevo Edge specifications
The numbers that matter first, then every fact by group. As published by the maker or the shop we read it from.
The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

Water tank in the robot
When it matters
Large hard floors mopped in one go.
A robot whose dock does not refill it during a run.
With a dock that refills the robot during the run, the tank’s size hardly matters.
The dock can be connected to the tap and the drain, so you never fill or empty a tank. It does need a connection nearby. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

Dock size (w × d × h)
When it matters
A small hallway or a niche where the dock has to fit.
Placing the dock under a cabinet or a counter.
Along an open wall with room to spare it decides little.

Frequently asked questions about the Roborock Qrevo Edge
1
Does the Roborock Qrevo Edge empty its own dust bin?
Yes. The station empties the robot’s dust bin after every run. The dust bag in the station lasts up to 49 days, the maker says.
2
Does the Roborock Qrevo Edge wash and dry its own mop?
Yes. The station washes the mop itself, with water at 75 °C. It then dries the mop with warm air.
3
Does the Roborock Qrevo Edge work with Alexa, Google Home or Siri?
It works with Alexa, Siri and Google Home. It also supports Matter, so it fits into another brand’s app.
4
How high a threshold can the Roborock Qrevo Edge climb?
Thresholds up to 30 mm, the maker says. With its climbing system it also takes two steps close together, up to 40 mm in all. Measure your own thresholds: the ones to a bathroom or balcony are often higher.
5
Does the Roborock Qrevo Edge fit under low furniture?
The robot is 10.3 cm tall, so it fits under furniture with at least 11 cm of clearance.
6
How long does the Roborock Qrevo Edge run on one charge?
