What testers say about the Roborock QV 35A
The Roborock QV 35A is a mid-range robot with two spinning mop pads that lift a centimetre on carpet, obstacle recognition with 3D structured light, lidar navigation and a station that empties the bin into a four-litre bag and washes and dries the pads. Tom's Guide tested the US version, the QV 35S, and places it sixth in its guide as the model that gets the balance between features and price right.
Tom's Guide saw it pick up most visible debris on hard floors, with long battery life, simple setup and controls and obstacle recognition the testers called impressive, even in cluttered rooms. The robot recognises carpet and does not mop it, the auto-empty station removes the daily bin chore and the suction is strong for the price.
The criticism: it struggles on high-pile carpet, heavily shedding pets are too much to ask, the station washes the pads without warm water and doses no solution, and the reviewer found the dust bags harder to empty than a bin. Thresholds stop at two centimetres and the side brush does not extend. For a home with mostly hard floors that wants an auto-empty station with mopping without paying a lot, it is one of Roborock's most sensible choices.
