What to expect from the Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry
For anyone who only wants to vacuum, has no need for a mop and wants the station to do the emptying, it is worth weighing against a tested model with a self-emptying station.
The Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry is a robot vacuum with no mop, with a bagless station that empties its bin using cyclones. Dyson says the station holds up to 90 days of debris. The robot maps the home with lidar, avoids obstacles with line lasers and edge sensors, and draws up to 21,000 Pa of suction.
A sensor measures how much dust it picks up and raises the suction where the floor is dirtier, and it also boosts the suction on carpet. A side brush extends to reach into corners and along edges, the brush bar is built not to tangle with hair, and it climbs thresholds of up to 0.8 inches. It is 3.8 inches tall, 13.9 inches across and weighs 7.5 pounds. Dyson gives a run time of 120 minutes and a charge time of 6.5 hours.
None of our test sources has tested the R1, so how well it vacuums in practice is still unknown.
