What testers say about the MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller SA

The MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller SA is a version of the Z60 Ultra Roller Complete: the same robot with a HydroForce roller mop that is rinsed while mopping, extends along edges and goes under an AutoShield cover on carpet, 28,000 Pa of suction, an extending side brush, the double TroboWave anti-tangle brush, obstacle recognition with 3D structured light, the StepMaster climbing system for tall thresholds and a station that empties the bin into a 3.2-liter bag for a hundred days, washes the roller in 176 °F water and dries with hot air.

Vacuum Wars set the Z60 Ultra Roller Complete against the Dreame Aqua10: both lifted 85 percent of the sand out of carpet, the Z60 came out of the long-hair test without a single wrap and picked up pressed-in pet hair at 87 percent, with obstacle recognition the testers counted among its strengths.

The testers' reservations: more debris in crevices than average and bench suction that did not impress. According to our specifications the station doses no detergent and 71 decibels is quoted. Compare its price with the Complete: at the same price, the Complete's accessory box is the deciding factor.

MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller SA specifications

The numbers that matter first, then every fact by group. As published by the maker or the store we read it from.

Dimensionsrobot and dock

Dock, from the front 21.5 in high 15.4 in deep 21.5 in 18.2 in wide Robot, from the side 13.8 in across 3.8 in

From the published dimensions. The robot passes under furniture with 3.8 in of clearance or more. The dock needs a spot 18.2 in wide and 15.4 in deep.

Suction and brushes 6 facts
Suction power

Suction in pascal, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot picks grit off a hard floor.

28,000 Pa
Anti-tangle brush

A brush that guides hair to the side instead of letting it wind around the shaft. It saves the cutting work in homes with long hair or pets.

yes
Extending side brush

The side brush swings out in a corner or along a baseboard, so the dust there is swept in too. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

yes
Carpet detection

The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock.

detects carpet
Suitable for pet hair

Whether the robot copes with pet hair: a brush that hair does not wind around and a dock that empties the bin for you. Where the maker does not say so itself, we read it from those two.

yes
Dirt detection

A sensor notices where more dirt lies, at the doormat for example, and the robot cleans that patch longer or a second time.

yes
Mopping 6 facts
Mop type

How the mop is built: flat pads, two spinning discs or a roller. Discs press harder on dried-on dirt, a roller rinses itself while it works.

roller mop
Mop lift on carpet

How far the robot lifts the mop when it drives onto a carpet. From about 0.4 in (10 mm) a medium pile stays dry.

0.6 in (14 mm)
Mop extends to the edges

The pad slides out along a wall or a baseboard, so the last few inches are mopped as well.

yes
Automatic mop detach

The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet. On this model: the maker names this feature nowhere on the product page, so we take it as no.

no
Mop refreshed while mopping

The robot returns to the dock during a run to rinse the mop, instead of pushing dirty water around. On this model: the maker names this feature nowhere on the product page, so we take it as no.

no
Water tank in the robot

How much clean water the robot carries. It sets how long it mops before a refill, which a dock does by itself.

110 ml
Dock 13 facts
Empties the dust bin

The dock empties the robot’s dust bin, usually after every run. You only empty the dock’s bag or bin. On this model: the bag sits in the station.

yes
Bagless

The dock collects dust in a bin instead of a disposable bag. No bags to buy, but you empty it yourself.

no
Dust bag capacity

How much the dust bag in the dock holds.

3.2 l
Dust bag lasts

How long the maker says a dust bag lasts with daily use. With pets or a lot of carpet it is shorter. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

up to 100 days
Washes the mop

The dock washes the mop for you, so you do not rinse it by hand.

yes
Wash temperature

How hot the dock washes the mop. Above 140 °F (60 °C) grease comes off, which is what keeps a mop from smelling. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

176 °F (80 °C)
Dries the mop

The dock dries the mop afterwards, so it does not sit there wet and start to smell.

yes
Hot-air drying

Drying is done with warm air instead of cold. It is faster and it helps against smell.

yes
Dispenses detergent

The dock mixes detergent into the water itself, from its own bottle.

yes
Plumbing hookup

The dock can be connected to the tap and the drain, so you never fill or empty a tank. It does need a connection nearby.

no
Clean water tank

The clean water tank in the dock, which wets the mop.

4 l
Dirty water tank

The tank that catches the dirty water from the mop. You empty this one yourself.

3.5 l
Dock size (w × d × h)

The width, depth and height of the dock. Measure the spot you have in mind, and leave room for the lid and for the robot driving in.

18.2 × 15.4 × 21.5 in (46.3 × 39 × 54.5 cm)
Navigation and obstacles 4 facts
Navigation

How the robot maps your home and follows that map. Lidar measures with a laser and works in the dark, a camera looks along and recognizes more. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

LiDAR turret
Obstacle avoidance

How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

3D sensor (structured light)
Climbs thresholds up to

The highest threshold the robot takes, as the maker states it. Measure your own: the step into a bathroom or onto a balcony is often higher.

0.9 in (22 mm)
Climbing system for high thresholds

An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 0.8 in (2 cm).

no
Robot 4 facts
Robot height

How tall the robot is. It decides whether it fits under your sofa, bed or cabinet.

3.8 in (9.6 cm)
Robot diameter

How wide the robot is. Narrower gets between chair legs more easily, wider usually means a bigger dust bin.

13.8 in (35 cm)
Dust bin in the robot

How much dust the robot holds before you empty it. It matters less with a self-emptying dock, which empties the bin after every run.

210 ml
Noise

The noise in decibels, in the setting its source names: makers mostly give the standard setting, stores often the highest. 65 dB is like a vacuum at half power, 55 dB like a conversation. On this model: maximum noise level according to Coolblue.

71 dB
Battery 2 facts
Battery capacity

The capacity of the battery. It hints at the runtime, but how much the robot draws counts just as much.

6,400 mAh
Runtime per charge

How long the robot cleans on one charge, at its quietest setting. After that it recharges and carries on where it stopped.

220 min
Smart features and warranty 4 facts
Matter

Matter is the standard that lets devices from different makers work together. With it you can run the robot outside the maker’s own app. On this model: the maker names this feature nowhere on the product page, so we take it as no.

no
Voice assistants

Which voice assistants the robot works with, such as Google Assistant or Alexa.

built-in voice control ('Hé, MOVA') plus third-party voice control (assistants not named)
Warranty

The warranty the maker gives in the United States.

3 years
Scheduled runs

You set days and times, and the robot starts by itself, also when you are not at home.
