What to expect from the Dreame D20 Pro Plus
The Dreame D20 Pro Plus is a budget robot with an auto-empty station: 13,000 Pa of suction, the split HyperStream anti-tangle brush, a side brush that extends along edges, obstacle recognition with 3D structured light and a fixed mop cloth you wet and attach yourself. The station empties the bin into a five-litre bag, good for 150 days according to Dreame. The 5,200 mAh battery is rated for 285 minutes.
For the price the equipment is generous: an anti-tangle brush and an extending side brush are rare on robots under two hundred euros, and the large bag means months without thinking about the bin. Tom's Guide tested the related D10 Plus Gen 2 and saw it pick up dust, grit and hair from wooden floors better than pricier rivals, with quick mapping and a simple app.
The limits are those of the class: the mop cloth does not lift on carpet and only mops lightly, the station washes nothing, thresholds stop at two centimetres and full power is rated at 76 decibels, loud for a robot. None of our test sources has measured the D20 Pro Plus itself. For a home with mostly hard floors that wants an auto-empty station without a washing function, it is one of the more complete entry models.

Dreame D20 Pro Plus specifications
The numbers that matter first, then every fact by group. As published by the maker or the shop we read it from.
The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock.
detects carpet
Suitable for pet hair
When it matters
Dogs and cats that shed.
Long-haired pets, whose hair wraps around a brush.
When it matters less
Without pets, ordinary hair and dust need nothing special.
Source: derived, no source of its own · checked on 2 Oct
Whether the robot copes with pet hair: a brush that hair does not wind around and a dock that empties the bin for you. Where the maker does not say so itself, we read it from those two.
yes
Dirt detection
When it matters
Entrances and kitchens, where dirt gathers in one place.
Pets that leave hair in a favourite spot.
When it matters less
If dirt is spread evenly, a normal pass cleans it just as well.
The robot returns to the dock during a run to rinse the mop, instead of pushing dirty water around. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
no (assumed)
Water tank in the robot
When it matters
Large hard floors mopped in one go.
A robot whose dock does not refill it during a run.
When it matters less
With a dock that refills the robot during the run, the tank’s size hardly matters.
How long the maker says a dust bag lasts with daily use. With pets or a lot of carpet it is shorter. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.
up to 150 days
Washes the mop
314 of the 397 models we track have this.
When it matters
Mopping several times a week, when rinsing pads by hand gets tiresome.
Kitchens and hallways, where a mop picks up a lot of dirt.
When it matters less
If you rarely mop, washing the pads by hand is little work.
How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact.
An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 2 cm. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
no (assumed)
No-go zones
When it matters
Pet bowls, a play corner or a rug with tassels the robot should skip.
Places where it gets stuck, such as under a low chair.
When it matters less
In a clear home with nothing to avoid you will rarely use it.
The noise in decibels while cleaning, in the setting its source names: makers mostly give the standard setting, shops often the highest. 65 dB is like a vacuum at half power, 55 dB like a conversation. Emptying by the dock is louder and listed on its own.
Matter is the standard that lets devices from different makers work together. With it you can run the robot outside the maker’s own app. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
no (assumed)
Voice assistants
When it matters
Starting the robot by voice while your hands are full.
A home already run with Alexa, Google or Siri.
When it matters less
If you start it from the app or a schedule, you will not miss it.
Which voice assistants the robot works with, such as Google Assistant or Alexa. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.
Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri
Warranty
When it matters
A robot with a dock full of pumps and moving parts, where more can break.
An expensive robot you plan to keep for years.
When it matters less
For a cheap robot you would replace rather than repair, the extra years count for less.
