What to expect from the Dreame L10s Ultra

The Dreame L10s Ultra was, in 2022, Dreame's first robot with a station that does everything itself: emptying the bin into a three-litre bag for sixty days, washing the mop pads and drying them with hot air, refilling water and dosing detergent. The robot has 5,300 Pa of suction, two spinning mop pads that lift on carpet, obstacle recognition with a camera and 3D structured light and a quoted run time of 210 minutes at 59 decibels.

At the time it was one of the first complete packages under a thousand euros and laid the foundation for the L20 Ultra that Vacuum Wars named best robot of 2023 a year later. The camera-and-light obstacle recognition is still more than many cheap robots offer today.

The limits: 5,300 Pa is low next to current models, the mop pad and the side brush do not extend, the station washes without hot water and the pads do not stay behind in the station automatically. At the moment none of the shops we track offers this model, and none of our test sources has measured it. As leftover stock it is only interesting well below the price of the L10s Ultra Gen 3.

Based on the maker's specifications and our price data; none of our test sources has tested this model.

What the tests like and dislike about the Dreame L10s Ultra

Pros

  • Lifts daily dust and crumbs out of deep pile rugs very well TechRadar ↗
  • Empties and cleans itself after each run, so there is little upkeep TechRadar ↗
  • Mapped the home accurately on its very first run TechRadar ↗
  • Draws sand embedded deep in carpet out better than most robots Vacuum Wars ↗
  • Gets a lot of cleaning time out of each charge Vacuum Wars ↗
  • Gets up both fine and coarse dirt from carpet and hard floors Vacuum Wars ↗

Cons

  • Emptying into the dock is extremely loud TechRadar ↗
  • Smeared sauce and flour spills across tiles instead of clearing them TechRadar ↗
  • Picks up larger bits like cereal but drops them elsewhere in the room TechRadar ↗
  • Lifts its mop pads over carpet less reliably than rivals, so rugs can get damp Vacuum Wars ↗
  • Leaves more grit in floor crevices than its Roborock rival Vacuum Wars ↗
  • Covered a little less floor than its rival, missing hard-to-reach spots Vacuum Wars ↗

Where the testers disagree

  • Navigation: TechRadar: Mapped the home accurately on its very first run against Vacuum Wars: Covered a little less floor than its rival, missing hard-to-reach spots
  • Pickup: Vacuum Wars: Gets up both fine and coarse dirt from carpet and hard floors against TechRadar: Picks up larger bits like cereal but drops them elsewhere in the room · Vacuum Wars: Leaves more grit in floor crevices than its Roborock rival

Runtime per charge210 min
Suction power5,300 Pa

Consumables: a 3 l dust bag in the station, which lasts up to 60 days.

Dimensionsrobot and dock

From the published dimensions. The robot passes under furniture with 10 cm of clearance or more. The dock needs a spot 42 cm wide and 34 cm deep.

Suction and brushes 6 facts
Suction power

Suction in pascal, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot picks grit off a hard floor.

5,300 Pa
Anti-tangle brush

A brush that guides hair to the side instead of letting it wind around the shaft. It saves the cutting work in homes with long hair or pets.

yes
Extending side brush

The side brush swings out in a corner or along a kickboard, so the dust there is swept in too. On this model: the maker names this feature nowhere on the product page, so we take it as no.

no
Carpet detection

The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock.

detects carpet
Suitable for pet hair

Whether the robot copes with pet hair: a brush that hair does not wind around and a dock that empties the bin for you. Where the maker does not say so itself, we read it from those two.

yes
Dirt detection

A sensor notices where more dirt lies, at the doormat for example, and the robot cleans that patch longer or a second time.

yes
Mopping 6 facts
Mop type

How the mop is built: flat pads, two spinning discs or a roller. Discs press harder on dried-on dirt, a roller rinses itself while it works. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

spinning pads
Mop lift on carpet

How far the robot lifts the mop when it drives onto a carpet. From about 10 mm a medium pile stays dry.

7 mm
Mop extends to the edges

The pad slides out along a wall or a kickboard, so the last few centimetres are mopped as well.

no
Automatic mop detach

The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet. On this model: the maker names this feature nowhere on the product page, so we take it as no.

no
Mop refreshed while mopping

The robot returns to the dock during a run to rinse the mop, instead of pushing dirty water around.

no
Water tank in the robot

How much clean water the robot carries. It sets how long it mops before a refill, which a dock does by itself.

80 ml
Dock 13 facts
Empties the dust bin

The dock empties the robot’s dust bin, usually after every run. You only empty the dock’s bag or bin. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

yes
Bagless

The dock collects dust in a bin instead of a disposable bag. No bags to buy, but you empty it yourself.

no
Dust bag capacity

How much the dust bag in the dock holds. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

3 l
Dust bag lasts

How long the maker says a dust bag lasts with daily use. With pets or a lot of carpet it is shorter. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

up to 60 days
Washes the mop

The dock washes the mop for you, so you do not rinse it by hand. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

yes
Wash temperature

How hot the dock washes the mop. Above 60 °C grease comes off, which is what keeps a mop from smelling.

cold water
Dries the mop

The dock dries the mop afterwards, so it does not sit there wet and start to smell.

yes
Hot-air drying

Drying is done with warm air instead of cold. It is faster and it helps against smell. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

yes
Dispenses detergent

The dock mixes detergent into the water itself, from its own bottle. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

yes
Plumbing hookup

The dock can be connected to the tap and the drain, so you never fill or empty a tank. It does need a connection nearby. On this model: the maker names this feature nowhere on the product page, so we take it as no.

no
Clean water tank

The clean water tank in the dock, which wets the mop.

2.5 l
Dirty water tank

The tank that catches the dirty water from the mop. You empty this one yourself.

2.4 l
Dock size (w × d × h)

The width, depth and height of the dock. Measure the spot you have in mind, and leave room for the lid and for the robot driving in.

42.3 × 34 × 56.8 cm
Navigation and obstacles 6 facts
Navigation

How the robot maps your home and follows that map. Lidar measures with a laser and works in the dark, a camera looks along and recognises more.

LiDAR turret
Obstacle avoidance

How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

AI camera
Climbs thresholds up to

The highest threshold the robot takes, as the maker states it. Measure your own: the step into a bathroom or onto a balcony is often higher.

20 mm
Climbing system for high thresholds

An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 2 cm. On this model: the maker names this feature nowhere on the product page, so we take it as no.

no
No-go zones

How you keep the robot out of a place: a zone you draw in the app, a virtual wall or a magnetic strip on the floor.

virtual walls
Camera on board

Whether the robot has a camera, and what for: to recognise obstacles, or also to show you a live picture of your home in the app.

obstacle camera
Robot 5 facts
Robot height

How tall the robot is. It decides whether it fits under your sofa, bed or cabinet.

9.7 cm
Robot diameter

How wide the robot is. Narrower gets between chair legs more easily, wider usually means a bigger dust bin.

35 cm
Robot weight

What the robot weighs. It counts most if you carry it up a staircase every day.

3.7 kg
Dust bin in the robot

How much dust the robot holds before you empty it. It matters less with an auto-empty dock, which empties the bin after every run.

350 ml
Noise

The noise in decibels, in the setting its source names: makers mostly give the standard setting, shops often the highest. 65 dB is like a vacuum at half power, 55 dB like a conversation.

59 dB
Battery 2 facts
Battery capacity

The capacity of the battery. It hints at the runtime, but how much the robot draws counts just as much.

5,200 mAh
Runtime per charge

How long the robot cleans on one charge, at its quietest setting. After that it recharges and carries on where it stopped.

210 min
Smart features and warranty 3 facts
Matter

Matter is the standard that lets devices from different makers work together. With it you can run the robot outside the maker’s own app. On this model: the maker names this feature nowhere on the product page, so we take it as no.

no
Voice assistants

Which voice assistants the robot works with, such as Google Assistant or Alexa. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri
Warranty

The warranty the maker gives in Germany. Consumer law here stands apart from it and can last longer.

Frequently asked questions about the Dreame L10s Ultra

Does the Dreame L10s Ultra empty its own dust bin?

Yes. The station empties the robot’s dust bin after every run. The 3 l dust bag in the station lasts up to 60 days, the maker says.

Does the Dreame L10s Ultra wash and dry its own mop?

Yes. The station washes the mop itself, with cold water. It then dries the mop with warm air.

Does the Dreame L10s Ultra work with Alexa, Google Home or Siri?

It works with Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri. It does not support Matter.

How high a threshold can the Dreame L10s Ultra climb?

Thresholds up to 20 mm, the maker says. It has no climbing system for higher thresholds. Measure your own thresholds: the ones to a bathroom or balcony are often higher.

Does the Dreame L10s Ultra fit under low furniture?

The robot is 9.7 cm tall, so it fits under furniture with at least 10 cm of clearance.

Is the Dreame L10s Ultra suitable for pet hair?

Yes, the maker says. The brush guides hair to the side instead of winding it round the roller.
