What to expect from the Dreame X50 Master

The Dreame X50 Master is a version of the X50 line: 20,000 Pa of suction in five settings with noise reduction, ProLeap legs for thresholds up to 4.2 centimetres, a retractable lidar that keeps the robot at 89 millimetres, camera-based obstacle recognition, an extending mop pad and side brush, pads that stay behind in the station automatically, and a station that washes in 80-degree water, dries with hot air, doses detergent and can be connected to the water line. The 6,400 mAh battery is rated for 200 minutes.

The X50 Ultra Complete on the same base has been tested extensively: TechRadar calls it perhaps the most complete package on the market, because the legs and the retracting turret take it under sofas and over thresholds, and Vacuum Wars measured a near-perfect score on pressed-in pet hair and 83 percent of the sand out of carpet. Against that Ultra Complete, the Master adds automatic pad drop-off and the water connection, according to our specifications.

The criticism of the X50 Ultra Complete, patchy obstacle recognition and a battery that drains quickly, presumably applies here too. There is no test of the Master itself yet; anyone who wants the legs and the low build should compare the price of both versions and pick the cheaper one.

Based on the maker's specifications and our price data; none of our test sources has tested this model.

Dreame X50 Master specifications

The numbers that matter first, then every fact by group. As published by the maker or the shop we read it from.

Dreame · on the market since January 2025

Robot height8.9 cm
Climbs thresholds up to42 mm
Mop lift on carpet10.5 mm
Runtime per charge220 min
Suction power20,000 Pa

Consumables: a 3.2 l dust bag in the station, which lasts up to 100 days.

Dimensionsrobot and dock

Dock, from the front 24.9 cm high 41.6 cm deep 24.9 cm 41.8 cm wide Robot, from the side 35 cm across 8.9 cm

From the published dimensions. The robot passes under furniture with 9 cm of clearance or more. The dock needs a spot 42 cm wide and 42 cm deep.

Suction and brushes 6 facts
Suction power

Suction in pascal, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot picks grit off a hard floor.

20,000 Pa
Anti-tangle brush

A brush that guides hair to the side instead of letting it wind around the shaft. It saves the cutting work in homes with long hair or pets.

yes
Extending side brush

The side brush swings out in a corner or along a kickboard, so the dust there is swept in too.

yes
Carpet detection

The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock.

detects carpet
Suitable for pet hair

Whether the robot copes with pet hair: a brush that hair does not wind around and a dock that empties the bin for you. Where the maker does not say so itself, we read it from those two.

yes
Dirt detection

A sensor notices where more dirt lies, at the doormat for example, and the robot cleans that patch longer or a second time.

yes
Mopping 5 facts
Mop type

How the mop is built: flat pads, two spinning discs or a roller. Discs press harder on dried-on dirt, a roller rinses itself while it works.

spinning pads
Mop lift on carpet

How far the robot lifts the mop when it drives onto a carpet. From about 10 mm a medium pile stays dry.

10.5 mm
Mop extends to the edges

The pad slides out along a wall or a kickboard, so the last few centimetres are mopped as well.

yes
Automatic mop detach

The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet.

yes
Mop refreshed while mopping

The robot returns to the dock during a run to rinse the mop, instead of pushing dirty water around.

no
Dock 11 facts
Empties the dust bin

The dock empties the robot’s dust bin, usually after every run. You only empty the dock’s bag or bin.

yes
Bagless

The dock collects dust in a bin instead of a disposable bag. No bags to buy, but you empty it yourself.

no
Dust bag capacity

How much the dust bag in the dock holds. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

3.2 l
Dust bag lasts

How long the maker says a dust bag lasts with daily use. With pets or a lot of carpet it is shorter. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

up to 100 days
Washes the mop

The dock washes the mop for you, so you do not rinse it by hand.

yes
Wash temperature

How hot the dock washes the mop. Above 60 °C grease comes off, which is what keeps a mop from smelling.

80 °C
Dries the mop

The dock dries the mop afterwards, so it does not sit there wet and start to smell.

yes
Hot-air drying

Drying is done with warm air instead of cold. It is faster and it helps against smell.

yes
Dispenses detergent

The dock mixes detergent into the water itself, from its own bottle.

yes
Plumbing hookup

The dock can be connected to the tap and the drain, so you never fill or empty a tank. It does need a connection nearby.

yes
Dock size (w × d × h)

The width, depth and height of the dock. Measure the spot you have in mind, and leave room for the lid and for the robot driving in.

41.8 × 41.6 × 24.9 cm
Navigation and obstacles 6 facts
Navigation

How the robot maps your home and follows that map. Lidar measures with a laser and works in the dark, a camera looks along and recognises more.

retractable LiDAR
Obstacle avoidance

How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact.

AI camera
Climbs thresholds up to

The highest threshold the robot takes, as the maker states it. Measure your own: the step into a bathroom or onto a balcony is often higher.

42 mm
Double threshold (two steps together)

Two steps close together, such as a threshold with a sliding-door track behind it: their combined height, as the maker measures it. Each brand measures with a different gap between the steps, so compare this figure across brands with care. For a single step, the threshold above applies.

60 mm, measured with 4 cm between the steps
Climbing system for high thresholds

An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 2 cm. On this model: derived from the threshold height the maker states.

yes
Camera on board

Whether the robot has a camera, and what for: to recognise obstacles, or also to show you a live picture of your home in the app.

obstacle camera
Robot 5 facts
Robot height

How tall the robot is. It decides whether it fits under your sofa, bed or cabinet.

8.9 cm
Robot diameter

How wide the robot is. Narrower gets between chair legs more easily, wider usually means a bigger dust bin.

35 cm
Robot weight

What the robot weighs. It counts most if you carry it up a staircase every day.

4.53 kg
Dust bin in the robot

How much dust the robot holds before you empty it. It matters less with an auto-empty dock, which empties the bin after every run.

395 ml
Noise

The noise in decibels, in the setting its source names: makers mostly give the standard setting, shops often the highest. 65 dB is like a vacuum at half power, 55 dB like a conversation.

75 dB
Battery 3 facts
Battery capacity

The capacity of the battery. It hints at the runtime, but how much the robot draws counts just as much.

6,400 mAh
Runtime per charge

How long the robot cleans on one charge, at its quietest setting. After that it recharges and carries on where it stopped.

220 min
Charging time

How long an empty battery takes to charge fully in the dock.

4.5 h
Smart features and warranty 3 facts
Matter

Matter is the standard that lets devices from different makers work together. With it you can run the robot outside the maker’s own app. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

yes
Voice assistants

Which voice assistants the robot works with, such as Google Assistant or Alexa. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri
Warranty

The warranty the maker gives in Germany. Consumer law here stands apart from it and can last longer.
