What to expect from the Roborock Saros 20 Neo
The Roborock Saros 20 Neo is the cheaper version of the Saros 20: the same 36,000 Pa of suction, the dual anti-tangle system, a retractable lidar at 79.5 millimetres tall, camera-based obstacle recognition, a climbing system for thresholds up to 4.5 centimetres, warm-water mopping, a FlexiArm side brush and edge mop that extend, AI stain detection and pads that, according to Roborock, stay behind in the station automatically. The station empties the bin into a disposable bag, washes the pads, dries with warm air and doses detergent.
The Saros 20 has been praised by three test sources for exactly the parts the Neo shares: Tom's Guide measured the effect of the highest suction in its guide on embedded pet hair, Vacuum Wars lifted 89 percent of the sand out of carpet and 88 percent of the pressed-in pet hair with a perfect score in the long-hair test, and the low build took it under furniture a turret cannot reach.
The criticism of the Saros 20 concerned mopping and price: Tom's Guide saw missed patches and streaks, TechRadar still found sticky spills a job for a cloth. Exactly where the Neo cuts back, Roborock does not spell out; our specifications list a thirty-day bag and no water connection. None of our test sources has measured the Neo itself. Anyone wanting the Saros 20's suction and climbing legs for less should compare the two stations before choosing.
