An all-in-one station takes over the tedious part: after every run it empties the bin, washes the mop pads or roller with water, often hot, and dries them with warm air so they do not smell. Most stations also refill the robot's water tank and some dose detergent. In practice you do not touch the robot for weeks: every few weeks you fill the clean-water tank, empty the dirty one and replace a dust bag now and then.
There is a trade-off. The station is big, often forty to fifty centimetres high and wide, and the price is higher than a robot with an auto-empty station only.
