Suction in pascal, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot picks grit off a hard floor.

What to expect from the iRobot Roomba Plus 415 Combo
The iRobot Roomba Plus 415 Combo succeeds the Plus 405 Combo: 20,000 Pa of suction, anti-tangle brushes, an AllergenLock dust bag, two spinning DualClean mop pads of which one extends along walls with PerfectEdge, a fold-out side brush for corners, pads that lift 10.5 millimetres on carpet, lidar navigation, thresholds up to 2.5 centimetres and a low build of 78.9 millimetres. The station empties the bin, washes the pads in 60-degree water and dries with hot air.
Vacuum Wars tested the Plus 405 and praised the washing station as a big step forward for iRobot, with a removable tray, and saw the lidar navigate tidily. On paper the 415 addresses two criticisms from that test: the station now washes with warm water and suction has nearly tripled, and the extending mop arm is new.
What else Vacuum Wars criticised, a single water level and a mop that left five times as much water behind as average, a buggy app and the absence of obstacle recognition, has not been measured for the 415; our specifications still list no camera. The station doses no detergent. None of our test sources has rated the 415; anyone considering it should read the test of the 405 first.

When it matters
Rugs and carpets, where the robot should raise its suction.

When it matters less

Mopping6 facts
Mop type
When it matters
Homes with a lot of hard floor that you want mopped, not just wiped.
Dried-on dirt in a kitchen, which spinning pads or a roller scrub off better than a dragged cloth.
When it matters less
If you only vacuum, the mop’s build decides nothing.
The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

Mop refreshed while mopping
When it matters
Large hard floors, where a mop that is never rinsed spreads dirt around.
Kitchens with sticky spills.
When it matters less
In a small home the mop does not get dirty enough in one run for it to matter.
The robot returns to the dock during a run to rinse the mop, instead of pushing dirty water around. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

Dried-on spills and grease in a kitchen.
Wanting a deeper clean than water and a cloth give.
