The labs that have tested this model, each linked to its own review.
How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact.
When it matters
Cables, socks and toys left on the floor.
Pets, whose accidents a robot should steer around.
In a home that is tidied before each run it matters less.

The Roborock Q10 S5+ is the cheapest Roborock with mopping and an auto-empty station: lidar navigation, front obstacle sensors, 10,000 Pa of suction, a vibrating mop pad that lifts eight millimetres on carpet and a small station that empties the bin into a 2.7-litre bag. Vacuum Wars bought one and saw scores that rival far pricier robots; Tom's Guide tested it too and reached a much cooler verdict.
On the Vacuum Wars bench it produced the fourth-highest suction of more than 150 robots tested. In the carpet deep-clean test it removed 96 percent of the embedded sand, tying the highest score ever, and on pet hair it also scored 96 percent against an average of 75; after the long-hair test nothing was wrapped around the brush, thanks to the combs in the brush housing. The mop pad scored 103 on dried stains against a 93 average and, at half a gram, left only half the usual water behind. Tom's Guide praised the cleaning on carpet and hard floors, the simple app and the looks.
The criticism: at Tom's Guide it got stuck often and needed constant supervision, the battery drained quickly on the top suction setting, emptying is loud, and the mop pad, which is always mounted, touches the floor while charging, while the station's plastic floor mat felt cheap and came loose. The station does not wash or dry the pad or refill water, which leaves the maintenance to you, and Vacuum Wars saw early customer feedback that raised quality-control questions. Anyone mainly after suction on carpet for little money who sees mopping as a bonus gets an exceptional amount here; anyone wanting a robot that works without looking after it is better off paying a bit more.

Roborock Q10 S5+ specifications
The numbers that matter first, then every fact by group. As published by the maker or the shop we read it from.
Suction in pascal, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot picks grit off a hard floor. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.
10,000 Pa
Anti-tangle brush
473 of the 493 models we track have this.
When it matters
Long hair and pet hair, which wrap around a bristle brush.
Homes where you would rather not cut hair off the brush.
A brush that guides hair to the side instead of letting it wind around the shaft. It saves the cutting work in homes with long hair or pets. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.
yes
Extending side brush
When it matters
Corners and edges along kickboards, where a round robot leaves a strip of dust.
The side brush swings out in a corner or along a kickboard, so the dust there is swept in too. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
no (assumed)
Carpet detection
When it matters
Rugs and carpets, where the robot should raise its suction.
Mopping in a home with rugs, which have to stay dry.
The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock.
detects carpet and boosts suction
Suitable for pet hair
When it matters
Dogs and cats that shed.
Long-haired pets, whose hair wraps around a brush.
Without pets, ordinary hair and dust need nothing special.

Whether the robot copes with pet hair: a brush that hair does not wind around and a dock that empties the bin for you. Where the maker does not say so itself, we read it from those two.

Mopping6 facts
Mop type
When it matters
Homes with a lot of hard floor that you want mopped, not just wiped.
Dried-on dirt in a kitchen, which spinning pads or a roller scrub off better than a dragged cloth.
If you only vacuum, the mop’s build decides nothing.
How the mop is built: flat pads, two spinning discs or a roller. Discs press harder on dried-on dirt, a roller rinses itself while it works. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.
How far the robot lifts the mop when it drives onto a carpet. From about 10 mm a medium pile stays dry. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.
8 mm
Mop extends to the edges
When it matters
Kitchens and hallways where dirt gathers along the kickboard.
Homes with many corners and table legs.
In open rooms the strip it leaves along the wall is small.
The pad slides out along a wall or a kickboard, so the last few centimetres are mopped as well. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
no (assumed)
Mop refreshed while mopping
When it matters
Large hard floors, where a mop that is never rinsed spreads dirt around.
Kitchens with sticky spills.
In a small home the mop does not get dirty enough in one run for it to matter.
The robot returns to the dock during a run to rinse the mop, instead of pushing dirty water around. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
no (assumed)
Water tank in the robot
When it matters
Large hard floors mopped in one go.
A robot whose dock does not refill it during a run.
With a dock that refills the robot during the run, the tank’s size hardly matters.
The dock empties the robot’s dust bin, usually after every run. You only empty the dock’s bag or bin. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.
yes
Bagless
When it matters
Not wanting to buy bags again and again.
Pets, whose hair fills a bag quickly.
With a dust allergy a sealed bag keeps the dust in when you throw it away, so bagless is no gain.
The dock mixes detergent into the water itself, from its own bottle.
no
Plumbing hookup
61 of the 154 models we track have this.
When it matters
Mopping every day, without filling and emptying tanks.
A spot near a tap and a drain, such as a utility room or under a kitchen counter.
If the dock stands far from any plumbing, it is no use.
Source: derived, no source of its own · checked on 20 Sept
The dock can be connected to the tap and the drain, so you never fill or empty a tank. It does need a connection nearby. On this model: derived from the station type.
no
Dock size (w × d × h)
When it matters
A small hallway or a niche where the dock has to fit.
Placing the dock under a cabinet or a counter.
Along an open wall with room to spare it decides little.
How the robot maps your home and follows that map. Lidar measures with a laser and works in the dark, a camera looks along and recognises more. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 2 cm. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

No-go zones
When it matters
Pet bowls, a play corner or a rug with tassels the robot should skip.
Places where it gets stuck, such as under a low chair.
In a clear home with nothing to avoid you will rarely use it.
The noise in decibels, in the setting its source names: makers mostly give the standard setting, shops often the highest. 65 dB is like a vacuum at half power, 55 dB like a conversation.
How long the robot cleans on one charge, at its quietest setting. After that it recharges and carries on where it stopped. On this model: from the maker's product text, not from a specification table.

Matter
When it matters
Running the robot alongside devices from other makers in one app.
Not wanting to depend on the maker’s own app.
If the maker’s app is all you use, it adds nothing.
Matter is the standard that lets devices from different makers work together. With it you can run the robot outside the maker’s own app. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

Warranty
When it matters
A robot with a dock full of pumps and moving parts, where more can break.
An expensive robot you plan to keep for years.
For a cheap robot you would replace rather than repair, the extra years count for less.
Whether the robot works with Home Assistant, the home automation software you run yourself. Official means the integration comes with Home Assistant itself, community that volunteers maintain it.
