What to expect from the Philips HomeRun 5000 Series XU5000
For anyone wanting spinning mops and strong suction without a station, from a familiar brand, it is a reasonable middle ground.
The Philips HomeRun 5000 Series XU5000 is a lidar robot vacuum and mop on a charging base, with 10,000 Pa of suction, hair detangling, and two spinning mop cloths fed from a 270-millilitre tank. Philips states up to 200 minutes on a removable 4,800 mAh battery and up to 6 hours to recharge.
The robot is 98 millimetres tall and weighs 3.8 kilograms, with a 260-millilitre dust bin, thresholds of up to 20 millimetres, maps of five floors, Wi-Fi on 2.4 and 5 GHz, and basic control through Alexa and Google Assistant, with a 2-year warranty.
None of our test sources has tested the XU5000. Philips states that the mop cloths do not lift, so carpets need a no-mop zone or the cloths taken off, there is no station to wash them or empty the bin, and there is no dirt detection.
