| Mopping | ||
| How the mop is built: flat pads, two spinning discs or a roller. Discs press harder on dried-on dirt, a roller rinses itself while it works. When it matters
Source
| flat or vibrating pad | flat or vibrating pad |
| How far the robot lifts the mop when it drives onto a carpet. From about 10 mm a medium pile stays dry. When it matters
Source

| The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet. When it matters
Source
| – | no (assumed) |
| The dock washes the mop for you, so you do not rinse it by hand. When it matters
Source
| no | no |
| Drying is done with warm air instead of cold. It is faster and it helps against smell. When it matters

| Station | ||
| The station the robot returns to, and what it does by itself, such as emptying the bin or washing and drying the mops. Station same on both | charging dock only | charging dock only |
| How long the maker says a dust bag lasts with daily use. With pets or a lot of carpet it is shorter. When it matters
Source

| The dock can be connected to the tap and the drain, so you never fill or empty a tank. It does need a connection nearby. When it matters

| Brush and obstacles | ||
| A brush that guides hair to the side instead of letting it wind around the shaft. It saves the cutting work in homes with long hair or pets. When it matters

| The highest threshold the robot takes, as the maker states it. Measure your own: the step into a bathroom or onto a balcony is often higher. In this comparisonWhen it matters

| 20 mm | 20 mm |
| An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 2 cm. When it matters
Source

| How tall the robot is. It decides whether it fits under your sofa, bed or cabinet. In this comparisonWhen it matters
Source
| 9.9 cm best | 9.9 cm |
| The noise in decibels, in the setting its source names: makers mostly give the standard setting, shops often the highest. 65 dB is like a vacuum at half power, 55 dB like a conversation. When it matters

| The month the model first went on sale. It shows how old the technology in it is. On the market since | January 2025 | April 2025 |
| Suction and brushes | ||
| Suction in pascal, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot picks grit off a hard floor. In this comparisonWhen it matters
Source
| 8,000 Pa | 10,000 Pa |
| Whether the robot copes with pet hair: a brush that hair does not wind around and a dock that empties the bin for you. Where the maker does not say so itself, we read it from those two. When it matters
Source
| no | no |
| The side brush swings out in a corner or along a kickboard, so the dust there is swept in too. When it matters
Source
| – | no (assumed) |
| The robot notices when it drives onto a carpet. Most then raise their suction, and a mopping robot lifts its mop or leaves it at the dock. When it matters
Source
| – | detects carpet and boosts suction |
| Mopping | ||
| How much clean water the robot carries. It sets how long it mops before a refill, which a dock does by itself. In this comparisonWhen it matters
Source
| 270 ml | 270 ml |
| The pad slides out along a wall or a kickboard, so the last few centimetres are mopped as well. When it matters
Source
| – | no (assumed) |
| The robot returns to the dock during a run to rinse the mop, instead of pushing dirty water around. When it matters
Source
| – | no (assumed) |
| Dock | ||
| The dock empties the robot’s dust bin, usually after every run. You only empty the dock’s bag or bin. When it matters
Source
| no | no |
| The dock dries the mop afterwards, so it does not sit there wet and start to smell. When it matters
Source
| no | no |
| The dock mixes detergent into the water itself, from its own bottle. When it matters

| no | no |
| Navigation and obstacles | ||
| How the robot maps your home and follows that map. Lidar measures with a laser and works in the dark, a camera looks along and recognises more. When it matters

| Sensors under the robot that see a drop, so it stops at the top of a staircase instead of falling down it. When it matters

| How you keep the robot out of a place: a zone you draw in the app, a virtual wall or a magnetic strip on the floor. When it matters
Source
| – | zones in the app |
| When the battery runs low in the middle of a run, the robot recharges and then carries on where it stopped. When it matters

Facts as the maker states them. A dash means the maker does not name it. Each model’s page gives the source of every fact. Noise is the maker’s own figure, so we do not judge it, and a customer rating only counts from 20 reviews.
Score out of 10: 60% lab tests, 25% owners’ ratings at the shops that deliver to Germany, 15% the maker’s facts. Price does not count. Only models a lab has tested are ranked, and only models sold in Germany count. Method.

How we rank
Six rules every robot is ranked by
The same rules for every brand, every day. No brand or shop can pay its way up.
Tested, or not ranked
A robot enters the ranking only after a cleaning test. 101 have been tested so far.
Price never counts
A discount can’t lift a model. The price sits beside the score, checked every morning at 6 shops.
Cleaning weighs most
60% of the score is measured cleaning: carpet, pet hair, mopping, obstacles and navigation.
Owners and makers have a say
25% comes from owners’ star ratings at the shops that deliver to you, 15% from the facts the maker states.
Thin evidence counts less
The fewer tests behind a result, the more we pull it toward the average of its station type, so one lucky run can’t top the list.
Reviewers shown, not blended
The picks of RTINGS, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, Vacuum Wars and Wirecutter sit next to our score, so you can see where they agree.
4 tests, 4 different winners
The number one on the main list of each test we follow, and where that model stands in our ranking. Their picks are shown beside our score and do not count in it.
| Test | Their number one | With us |
|---|---|---|
| RTINGS ↗list as of 25 September 2026 | Roborock Saros 10R | rank 24 of 64 with an all-in-one station |
| TechRadar ↗list as of 25 September 2026 | Roborock Qrevo Curv | rank 25 of 64 with an all-in-one station |
| Tom's Guide ↗list as of 25 September 2026 | Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete | rank 1 of 64 with an all-in-one station |
| Vacuum Wars ↗list as of 26 September 2026 | MOVA V70 Ultra Complete | rank 16 of 64 with an all-in-one station |
The main list is a test’s overall top list, not its lists for a budget, pets or carpet, which we show too. The date is the day we last read the list.

Where we check prices
We read prices every day at most shops, from their product feed or web shop. We check them for errors and keep them, so you can see what a price did over the last 90 days. We link to Amazon too, but show no Amazon price until we read it through Amazon’s own API. Until then the price is on Amazon itself.

Whose tests we use
The lab part of our score comes from the measured tests of Just A Dad Approved and Vacuum Wars.
Beside each model we also show where these testers place it in their own lists, without counting it in the score:
How we combine lab tests, owners’ ratings and facts into one score is on the method page.
