What to expect from the Cecotec Conga 8490 Ultimate Ultra Power
For anyone who wants a lidar robot with an anti-tangle brush and needs no station, it is a sound choice on paper.
The Cecotec Conga 8490 Ultimate Ultra Power is a robot vacuum with a mop pad and no station. It navigates with lidar, pulls 7,000 Pa of suction and has an anti-tangle brush against hair wrapping round the brush.
The 3,200 mAh battery is rated for 170 minutes, enough for a sizeable home in one run. At 100 millimetres tall it is the usual height for a robot with a lidar turret.
You empty the bin and rinse the mop pad yourself, and our specifications list no obstacle recognition, no threshold height and no bin or tank size. None of our test sources has tested the Conga 8490.

Cecotec Conga 8490 Ultimate Ultra Power specifications
The numbers that matter first, then every fact by group. As published by the maker or the shop we read it from.
The side brush swings out in a corner or along a kickboard, so the dust there is swept in too. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

Mopping4 facts
Mop type
When it matters
Homes with a lot of hard floor that you want mopped, not just wiped.
Dried-on dirt in a kitchen, which spinning pads or a roller scrub off better than a dragged cloth.
When it matters less
If you only vacuum, the mop’s build decides nothing.
The pad slides out along a wall or a kickboard, so the last few centimetres are mopped as well. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
The robot leaves the mop at the dock before it vacuums a carpet, so the carpet never gets wet. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
no (assumed)
Mop refreshed while mopping
When it matters
Large hard floors, where a mop that is never rinsed spreads dirt around.
Kitchens with sticky spills.
When it matters less
In a small home the mop does not get dirty enough in one run for it to matter.
The robot returns to the dock during a run to rinse the mop, instead of pushing dirty water around. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
no (assumed)
Navigation and obstacles4 facts
Navigation
When it matters
Several rooms, where a map lets you send the robot to one of them.
Cleaning in the dark, which lidar does and a camera alone does not.
When it matters less
In one open room even simple navigation covers the floor.
How the robot sees loose things on the floor, such as cables, socks or a pet accident. A camera with depth sensing sees more than a bumper that reacts on contact. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
An extending leg or wheel that carries the robot over a high threshold. Without one it usually stops at about 2 cm. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
no (assumed)
Robotic arm
When it matters
Socks, toys and small things left on the floor.
Not wanting to tidy up before every run.
When it matters less
In a home that is tidied before each run it adds little.
An arm on the robot that picks up small loose things such as socks, so they are not in its way. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.

When it matters
Sofas, beds and cabinets with little room underneath.
Dust that gathers under furniture you never move.
When it matters less
With furniture on high legs or flat on the floor it decides nothing.
Matter is the standard that lets devices from different makers work together. With it you can run the robot outside the maker’s own app. On this model: Assumed, not a stated fact: the maker's full specification does not name it, so we take it as no.
