Pascal is the pressure the robot can build, as the maker measures it. More pascal helps on carpet, but it says little about how well the robot lifts grit off a hard floor: the brush, the airflow and the route matter more there. That is why we lean on test sources rather than on the number alone.

How does a robot vacuum work?
It drives through the house by itself and sweeps dirt with spinning brushes towards a suction inlet, which pulls it into a bin inside the robot. With a laser (LiDAR) or a camera it maps your home, so it works in lanes and knows where it has been. Sensors keep it off the stairs and steer it around obstacles. When the run is done or the battery runs low, it drives back to its station to charge. A station can also empty the bin and, as an all-in-one station, wash the mop.

How long does a robot vacuum last?
Years, if you look after it. Brushes, filters and mop pads wear and are replaced now and then, and the battery holds less charge over time and can be replaced on many models.
